Seriously is this some sort of shader bug? How does a planet being in black and white make sense? Especially when some parts of the interface are in color and others aren't, and tools give off colored light.

It's definitely some kind of bug, although it does look cool. I've seen a planet that does the same thing, but once a storm came over everything was coloured properly until it passed again.

Finally found my first paradise planet but it's just a big ocean world with tiny little islands scattered everywhere. Scan says flora and fauna are bountiful but there's like one tree on each island. I went swimming and there's a bunch of fish and aquatic plants so I guess that's where all the life is coming from. It would be cool if you could build underwater bases a la Subnautica.

That planet is useless to me but I found a temperate planet with chill sentinels and a bunch of life. It's covered in blue grass that looks like cookie monster fur. I think I'll make this my home for now.

I haven't tried it myself, but you should be able to build underwater bases now. They showed one in the Next trailer.

I had it happen in a space station. The color returned to normal whenever I left. Out of curiosity I used the teleporter to go to my base and even the teleportation loading screen was colorless, but again the color came back when I arrived at my base. I didn't think it was a bug, though. There were three or four Traveller NPCs at this station, which was unusual, so I assumed that had something to do with it.

I had a bug where the Vykeen armorer you hire for your base refused to talk to me once installed, very frustrating. Even deleting their workstation and putting it back didn't do the job. I'm gonna have to start a fresh save to fix this I fear.

Also you can have freighter fleets now? WTF. When did this turn into Star Citizen?!

You guys think I'm a bug magnet, huh? Here's a story. I just had this happen:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_nHYlRKuvo
(I kept the start of it as a proof/timestamp)
I kept the game running while editing this which twice caused explorer.exe to break in such a way that I couldn't allow No Man's Sky to capture my mouse input anymore without it automatically alt-tabbing back out to Windows... and then every window in Windows couldn't see mouse clicks (but could see mouse hovering) until I killed explorer.exe and re-ran it. All that, twice. Today's a real bad day for me and PC bugs.

There's a mission that sends you to a signal coming from a planet where you find some antimatter. If you're on a planet try flying to space to see if you get a prompt for a signal to follow. I don't think you'll get it on the surface of a planet.

Turns out the issue was that I had somehow selected the "sub mission" of Craft Warp Cell, which removed any quest markers. I had to reselect the primary mission (which was also to...craft a warp cell) to get it to point me at the base. So thankfully not a bug, just stupid UI/quest design.

on the other hand I really like how pinning a certain item for crafting has a detailed guide on every single one of its components appear in the mission log. That's handy.

Building bases inside mountains is really dope. Building floor panels inside mountains and underground automatically clears the surrounding area of debris allowing you to build further inside/deeper.

That's the trick, thank you. Derp.

So uhhh I found something that breaks the gameplay a little bit and knowing Hello Games and their ability to fix the super duper corner case bugs that I always manage to find... this one won't get fixed any time soon, if ever.

You are limited to owning 6 ships. Upon owning 5 ships, while you are inside your freighter, NPC ships will not land in your freighter. If you leave your freighter with a ship, an NPC ship will land in your freighter, but that's the only ship you'll be able to trade with until it leaves, and you leave, and allow another slot for an NPC ship. If you own 6 ships, you will never get an NPC landing in your freighter because 6 slots (out of 9, yes, I know) will be taken up and NPCs don't land in freighters with 6 parking slots filled up. "So what?" you may ask. Well, the repercussions are thus:
1 - You can't easily crashed ships to your collection anymore. So the really awesome feature of "I'll fix this up later" is a bit harder than normal. While I was writing this post, I thought it was actually impossible to do anymore but it turns out you have to summon the ship you want to trade out, exchange it with the broken ship, and then summon another ship in order to get back into space. Mostly just an annoyance.
2 - You'll always have NPCs swirling around your freighter. I dunno, minor annoyance at most.
3 - Your freighter is basically useless as a trading post. I think this sucks pretty hard.

All they need to do is allow those last 3 slots to be landed on by NPCs. Shouldn't be a difficult fix but I bet it's as low on their priority list as adding keybinds for quick menu navigation. AKA: It's in the "never" bin.

Haha I left my game on while posting and someone came in wondering wtf I was doing with 6 ships just idling in my freighter. I told him what I was doing and mentioned the word "stupid" and... welp... the word stupid is turned into ****** due to chat filtering. Nicely done Hello Games.

Are they still using Sony's filter on PC.?

Is this a pc or ps4 glitch? I've got a few of the same ol bugs i've seen reported around (blueprint analyzer not working on previous save / a broken frigate that you can't repair that last spot) but my ship and multitool is p close to maxed out and I don't want to restart :smithicide:

I just fell all the way from orbit to the surface and lived. One of my freighters was damaged and for some reason was right on the border of "space" and "planet atmosphere", so when I landed on it and left my ship I immediately started falling lmao. Surprisingly it didn't glitch or bug out though, it looked great. And of course it happened after I'd stopped streaming :(

Can it launch? I read in a pop up you could summon a ship on surface if it had enough fuel for launch, I think it should work like that even in this case.

Hahaha whoever was reporting their bug about turning down the first freighter they defended? There's a similar bug if you save a freighter after you already have a freighter. They ask you to come aboard and offer you their freighter for free... but there's still a price on it. After you can't pay the 123 million (mmm it was an A class) the captain talks to you like you own the ship and offers to transfer stuff out of your actual freighter. And you can't buy the freighter you saved. Ouch.

Is there a way to save this location?

I guess I could always just slap a base cpu on there as those have a marker?

Cool... For a second time now I've lost any installed technology (life support B and 2-3 other things, I believe) that were put in my general inventory on my previous save. Fun. Good patch. Can't just reinstall then because I don't have the blueprints for them either. And I can't make a blueprint scanner cause there's that bug.

Those waypoints are very iffy as I've heard they disappear at random. Just build a beacon instead, those are meant to be permanent waypoints and at least unlike a base, you can delete it without leaving a permanent teleport location.

I just got the "find a missing person" mission and it was given to me by the missing person. I think I've now hit every popular bug in this game.
