I never listened to Denzel before because everyone referred to him as soundcloud rap which is synonymous with not actually being able to rap well at all but checked out this album and it rocks and he can rap real good so I’m confused

He's definitely on a different talent level from the rest of the scene (except maybe Ski Mask) and will probably have the most career longevity out of all of them Also check out his last album Imperial if you haven't already

He did yeah. He doesn’t make songs with blue sky black death anymore and he became muslim and his lyrics have gotten a little preachy. I still like him and listen to his new stuff but don’t love it like I did cliff of death 1 & 2.

Hahaha My absolute biggest musical regret in life was going to see Vic Mensa instead of Vince Staples back before they both became big. Vic Mensa absolutely sucks now whereas Staples is one of the best around

Since we were talking about Prodigy and Havoc, I decided to share this record I came across today. Obviously James Brown doesn't really need an intro but this is one of the few JB records I have found that hasn't been sampled dozens of time. Mobb Deep sampled this in 2007 for the song First Day of Spring from The Infamous Archives album and as far as I can tell, they were the only ones that have sampled it. It is more of a soul ballad than a funk song, so it doesn't have a sick break that was sampled to hell and back.
