I almost picked Backes but after the concussion in the playoffs I’m honestly worried about his health.

I think if he plays he’s been the best available player for many rounds now. That’s a real big if. Also his contract is not great.

Anyway, Carolina selects a player who seems to be pretty good and has some of the unique qualities our team is looking for.

Alex Iafallo

e:

Guentzel - O’Reilly - Laine
Vrana - Trochek - Puljujarvi
Hudon - Koivu - Iafallo

Suter - Edmundson
Yandle - Braun
Zadorov - Niku

Vancouver has a roster full of cap-friendly deals and is willing to break the bank for a proven center. Frans Nielsen will provide a stout defensive presence to the bottom-6 and is a plus contributor on special teams.

Silfverberg - Granlund - Andrighetto
Lindblom - Johansson - Sprong

Yeah he's been very near the top of mine but i was going youth. His age and contract I figured were scaring people off. Don't think i knew about the concussion in the playoffs, oh well, worse comes to worse he's on the 4th line.

We heard he plays defense for the Islanders, which can't be true because nobody plays defense on the Islanders, but he's got some minutes and Corsis and seems to have kept his head above water, so the Senators select Adam Pelech.

I'll take a guy who's hideously overpaid but genuinely not awful, just totally miscast as a winger for the fastest player in the world in Milan Lucic. I figure he'll settle into a role as a complementary scorer quite nicely and can jump up the lineup in the event of injuries.
