Will Ewoks and Porgs be made available at some point? I want to play with a tribe of Ewoks and/or Porgs. Someone please send this up to FFG corporate, we still don’t have Lt Kettch for x wing either.

I have stated already that if they ever release Ewoks I will make a converted all Ewok rebel army despite not currently playing this game... I want it bad.

But I think Ewoks are a serious possibility mechanically, and I'd love to see it. Maybe with some sort of anti-vehicle ability, and more hit-and-run type tactics. Probably won't be troopers, but some sort of support/special forces unit. I did make a Lt. Ketch pilot card for x-wing. I don't think I ever use it though.

Porgs will be multi based swarms with disorientating scream attacks. Any unit that kills a Porg must take a morale check and Think About What They Have Done.

Luckily there are more ground units than combat ships appearing in the movies, so hopefully that won't happen or at least will take longer. My own hope is that once they run out of Rebel and Imperial stuff from the films they'll start bringing in Republic and Separatists as new armies.

Well, I can't see a miniatures war game having much legs without a variety of factions. Someone commented earlier that they were surprised Sheev was already being released, but I think they're racing through to be able to announce new factions by the end of the quarter.

If they were gonna release other factions they should have done so from the start. They're gonna piss off a lot of people if in under a year they go "oh btw here's 2 new factions sucks if you already committed to the first 2"

They're gonna piss off a lot of people if in under a year they go "oh btw here's 2 new factions sucks if you already committed to the first 2" On the contrary, I think adding new factions is pretty normal for miniatures games? X-Wing launched with two factions, added a third, and is apparently moving to soon have 5. Warhammer 40k has added many new factions across the course of its lifespan, as did Warmahordes.

And I don't think too many people are going to buy into a Star Wars game and feel too burned that the inaugural factions they bought into were the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic. I mean there are probably weirdos who would rather play Yuzon Vong but they barely count as people.

I think in the case of star was they really don't need more than maybe 3 factions, and to get the variety you get from factions normally have sub-factions you can mix and match units from.

I'm putting my Johnny Rebs in front of my Imps in the queue since I prefer thematic games and most people locally seem to be on the space fascists. To help get me excited about the army I put together the coolest model first, my Bandai replacement for the FFG airspeeder.

Finally got to get another game in. Sullust board is looking nice, still need to do some detail work on the buildings and scatter for sure. Got ground down to nothing, just Leia hopelessly pinned behinds come crates. Do not do the Long March with Breakthrough objectives on a map with a single lengthwise chokepoint and Vader/AT-ST on the opposing side.

Rebel Commando preview up. Those sniper teams are looking pretty cool, though I'm not sure how practical the saboteurs will be - I really like the concept of setting a bunch of bombs to stop the enemy advance, but I'm not sure if the action economy is there for it.

They only cost an action to arm, not to detonate. You can easily make a suicide run, move, arm and detonate.

I know, the problem is that arming takes a full action where the rest of the squad doesn't do anything. I wish the other models could shoot while the saboteur arms the bomb - as it stands the two man team seems better since it's less wasteful to not shoot if you move + arm. The other issue is that the bomb itself isn't really all that strong - I was hoping it'd be something like 4 black dice with Blast and Impact 2. Seems like a lot of setup for what you get out of it, though I could be wrong and it's admittedly quite nice for creating difficulties in approaching your "home objectives" in some scenarios.

Eh I have quibbles about the way they are pacing releases where right now we have half a game with only the most skeletal list building options. But I think they are just doing.the X-wing thing of covering the OT screen canon before progressing into deeper cuts.

Apparently Chewie + Wookiees will get articles tomorrow, but the specialists and Clone Wars armies won't be until next year. They have a packed schedule already - Han, Boba, Scout Troopers, Commandos, E-Web Team, that Hoth radar dish turret, Palpatine, Royal Guards, and Chewie/Wookiees are all coming out this year (assuming FFG's logistics doesn't fail, which frankly it often has before). In other news, the numbers are looking strong:
