ekuNNN posted:Did you make it for a game, or the asset store, or just as practice? I started it as a personal tool to help me with art because due to neurological stuff I sometimes get very strong migraines from doing artwork. I wanted it to help me at least in the conceptual stage. It ended up growing outside the original scope and I started a game with it. And now I kinda put the game on hiatus because ironically I need to do art for it and my head is in no shape to do it right now. So I'm coding other stuff in the meanwhile until my headaches calm down a bit. I might eventually someday conceivably put it on the asset store. That's a lot of maybes. It needs a lot of cleanup and it's the kind of asset that will break down eventually with API changes and that sounds like a nightmare to maintain.

Going back to the early modern era of procedurally generated content: does anyone have a link to the professional voice actor/audiobook performer trying (and failing) to read Jamie Brew's recipe for Greased Casserole with Slices of Lemon Juice aloud? I seem to have exhausted my Google-fu, at least here on my phone.

SoundCloud! I had thought it was an audio-only video (and also didn't know the names of any audio equivalents to YouTube). That was the missing piece of the puzzle. Thanks!

It might actually have been the goon version I was thinking of, so thanks for that, too! Just as wonderful as I remember. Edit for "content": This supposedly bot-generated transcript of a White House press briefing has begun making the rounds: https://twitter.com/keatonpatti/status/1026484378568994817 It's funny in a "laugh because it's funny, cry because it's true" kind of way, but man, even if it were even slightly written by a bot/neural network (which I doubt), it's been massaged to within an inch of its life. Makes me long for the more innocent days of "The mixture is quite soft but not so oily that it destroys most people unacquainted with mayonnaise." I guess this is a pretty basic obervation, but here goes anyway: with markov chains, the algorithm will look a given amount of letters back, so if it starts generating the word "Chilling", once it's at the second 'i' it may look back, only see "-illi" and suddenly consider "-illionaire" a completely valid continuation. Earlier when posting book titles I noted that "Catherine" seems to have this happen to it very often, I guess because "-ather" is a pretty long string of letters that appears in several words. So then you end up with names like "leatherine", "weatherine", and also "deatherine". "Barbarianne" also emerged at one point.

There's a space roguelike with generated galaxies in development: https://twitter.com/GridSageGames/status/1029554684841754624 @GridSageGames also linked a larger galaxy later in the tweet thread: I really like a lot of procedural terrain generation and such; it's hard to generate really unique or hand-made-looking structures but there's just something really satisfying in very organic-feeling maps and other landscapes.

That's pretty wild. We're rapidly approaching the point where any image/video needs to be cryptographically signed from some trusted origin camera in order to be considered valid.
