For Kamoji's training I just waited till I could unlock the dodge upgrades (distance, etc.) in the Rush tree and kept spamming dodges. You can do up to three in a row and if you keep locking on to the attacker with R1 you can easily sidestep any of their attacks.

On PS4 I waited till I'd broken the rest of the game wide open before actually doing the mentor stuff. Surprisingly, it's possible to make it so you're too strong, especially for Miss Tatsu's Training.

At that time it was around 125 Yen = 1 USD. Quick way is to take a value you see in Y0, then estimate what 80% of that is, then remove 2 decimals.

Honestly I really want an app or a website that is like "yakuza yen to 2018 USD" where I can put in yen values mentioned and get the exchange rate adjusted fro inflation from the late 80s

It isnt actually that far off from today. Japan has not had significant inflation since like 1992 and experienced deflation for periods

1000 yen in 1989 is worth 1160 yen now, which is about 10.44 usd today.

(Comparatively speaking 10 usd in 1989 is a bit over 20 usd today)

Japan hit a severe economic depression following the bubble economy of the 1980s bursting when the real estate market tanked in 1990 because of interest rates and highly suspicious fiscal policy advice

I only mention the bubble economy because it's the actual given reason why enemies dont explode into cash post Yakuza 0 (or rather why they do in 0)

Yeah I looked it up but unfortunately my horrible inability to think mathematically makes it difficult for me to do that on the fly, so I've been having to use an inflation calculator even when I know the relative values

I hadn't thought of doing it that way though (again bad math thinking) so I'll do that, I like knowing how much Kiryu is spending on nonsense

Bob has a bunch of equipment and Premium adventure outfits. (Its the post story free roam mode)

You dont have to take it, but hell still have it if you come back.

Not sure exactly on the exact schedule, but basically he used to give you a set of items every week or so after the ps4 release for the first month.

Haven't tried the PC version yet to see if they're doing the same thing, or doing It all at once.

Bob is a franchise institution who exists entirely to give you free DLC stuff (the DLC is just included in the game already). He stands there forever and will offer those free items, and there is absolutely no reason not to take them.

It's free DLC that was spaced out over a couple of weeks on PS4 but you get it all at once now. Be careful though, I've read reports of those DLC packs screwing up your entire inventory and equipment in the PC version.

Look for Gandhara Video on the map. And take note of the girls in the unlocked videos, you should be able to recognize them. A huge number of the characters you meet in sidequests, or shop vendors, etc. are played by and modeled after real life porn actresses, the girl from the Dominatrix subquest for example.

Thanks dudes, yeah I didn't take the stuff from him because I also read that the DLC can permanently screw up your inventory (or at least make the items you get nonaccessible) so if they're for post-game anyway, I'll hold off until a patch. I also read that the Dojima Box gives you a fighting style that makes the game really cheesey, is that accurate?

I don't remember what exactly you get from those packs, but no, you don't get any new fighting style from those. There is an optional fighting style in the game, but it's a long way to unlock that.

The things you generally get from these packs are:

- Bonus Outfits (Only usable after you finished the story.)
- Valuables to sell
- Weapons and equipment
- Items that are used in various minigames and crafting materials

Just got 0 on PC, it's fun so far. Technically it's been great so far after I capped framerate (tried 60 but it would only run 55 for some reason so I capped 90 instead). Besides that it's got a lot of small annoyances that should really have been fixed in port. Like why do I have to edit an ini file to adjust dialogue/SFX/music volumes separately? Why does the game insist on showing me the silly 'real Yakuza use gamepad' screen every single time I start up? Why can't I bind menu and gameplay buttons separately? I swapped one trigger/shoulder pair on my XBOX controller because of gameplay preferences and it also swapped their menu functions so those are now asymetrical. Even the .ini doesn't seem to help me there.

I'm pretty sure the earliest you can craft the Zap Gun is in chapter 4 if you know where to look in the agent dispatch minigame, and after you do you can buy a bunch of duplicates from the weapon store.

This is important, because (I guess spoilers on how to break the game over your knee?) with an inventory full of Zap Guns you can run roughshod over Mr. Shakedowns, and Kiryu can get a Battle CP passive that increases the amount of money he gets from Mr. Shakedowns by 50% of their stated value. If Kiryu gets a bunch of money and then deliberately loses to a Mr. Shakedown, he can not only get back all of the money he lost, but the passive bonus applies too. Meaning it's possible to deliberately lose 10 billion yen to a Mr. Shakedown and get back 15 billion when you beat him later. And then do it again to multiply your money further. Note that each city has two Mr. Shakedowns that rotate between each other so if you lose your money to one, you'll need to beat the other to rotate him out if you want to get your money back.

There is also no reason whatsoever to shatter the difficulty curve like this but you can if you really, really want to.

Some people are having problems with crashes and controller stuff. I would recommend playing the game to see if you have any of those issues, and if not, continue to play the game that you own.

It varies from player to player. These are the known ones:

1) True fullscreen can crash the game on some systems. You can fix this by modifying the ini files in <user>/AppData/Roaming/Sega/Yakuza0
2) If your folder path contains non-standard characters, the game will crash. If your username uses non-stanrad characters, you can't fix this without creating a new user account, or editing your registry files.
3) There is a bugged sidequest that crashes your game if you do it.
4) Sometimes, after saving, items will glitch out. If you load, they'll be restored.
5) On some systems, using Heavy Attack will cause a hard crash. There is absolutely no known workaround for this. This is the problem I have.

My advice? Do not loving buy this lovely port. Maybe it works for you, maybe it doesn't, but Sega doesn't give half a gently caress about fixing this unplayable piece of poo poo and it shows in their scared rear end radio silence, and their community managers' unwillingness to talk about bugs and patch progress. But they are more than happy to agree with you when you say something good about the game. They're watching their threads; they just don't give a flying gently caress about users who can't play it.

Two days is okay if you're an independent game developer. Two days with not even a minor hotfix, when you have the resources of an international triple-a studio, with ABSOLUTELY NO COMMUNICATION, is unheard of. If Bethesda did this and 20% of their users couldn't play a new game for two days because they were dragging their heels on a patch, it would be the ultimate PR nightmare.

This should be no different, and I hold Sega to the same standards.
