Fun story. I told my wife people had given me £150 in an hour to play games. She didn't beleive me. I showed her the page. She then looked it up on her own tablet to make sure I wasn't making this up as some form of elaborate hoax! So! Thank you so loving much. I've spent the morning with a stupid grin on my face. So what does this mean for you. 1) WITW is on! I need some time to play, get my head around the rules and make the stupidest of mistakes off camera, so its not coming for several months at least. 2) Combat Mission - Finaly Blitzkrig is a go! This will either be a Goon V Goon game, or a Goon commanding the campaign game! This will be turning up much sooner, basically as soon as I can get all the assets I need together. 3) I now have a slush fund to Again! Thanks! Back to being gobsmacked!

Managed to scrape up a fiver for you, Grey. It's a small price to pay for years of entertainment! I'd still like to see you take a crack at the Close Combat games if you can fit them in. I've always had a soft spot for them - the demo for CC1 was my first wargame.

As for CC, I want to run through all the modern matrix games in cronological order, but I'm waiting to see how my RPG schedule plays out - it may have to be a on/off youtube LP rather than a properly threaded one. We'll see, it's something on the cards. I've been to lazy as of late, I'm onnly doing 1 proper LP, 2 sessions of RPG games and a CYOA at the moment. That sucks! As long as the kid doesn't go back to 4:30am starts, we should be golden!

You've got to start on 1 September 2018 (does WITW start with Poland?). Otherwise we have to wait till May 10th, and that seems too long. I would think having no idea on how to defend vs the Blitzkrieg without having time to practice or needing to spend 3 years how to use Bomber Command and losing more men than causing driving accidents will be perfectly historical. Vanilla WITW starts with Operation Husky in summer of '43. The expansion has earlier scenarios (Operation Torch), but I'm not 100% sure they added a longer version of the Grand Campaign, or if it's just timed scenarios. Edit: seems like Operation Torch is mostly limited scenarios, but there is a new Grand Campaign-style one: quote:The 4th Supreme Command (3 July 1943 - 4 Aug 1945 - 109 turns) is a hypothetical Grand Campaign that assumes Hitler had been assassinated in March 1943, and that the Axis armies were in a better situation in the summer of 1943. Start date isn't any earlier than vanilla though. Drone fucked around with this message at 11:57 on Aug 7, 2018 |

Yeah. World in flames would definitely have to come after witp. It would be a time consuming one. It would be an amazing long haul lp though..... Good news(?) Is I have no excuse notto get it at some point now....

8 August 1944 A British and Canadian cruiser-destroyer squadron sinks two German minesweepers (M-263 and M-486) off St. Nazaire along with several small ships in convoy with them and seriously damages the escort SG-3 (Jupiter) (ex-French seaplane tender Sans Pareil), which is attacked and burned out by RAF Beaufighters later the same day. Another minesweeper, M-133, damaged in June by MTBs, is scuttled at St. Malo.

I think you can consider spending some of the money on a Cloud-based automated backup solution, if you haven't already. You can also do things like computer upgrades, maybe a nice mic if you feel like doing more VLPs, maybe some video editing software for same, etc. It doesn't all have to be on the games.

# ? Aug 8, 2018 04:41 |

Have we reached the point where it's enough for you to play all the way to an autovictory? Because I'd drop quite a bit of money to see this LP through to the end.

The cloud based backup is a good idea. The mike and software I have through youtube money from my RPG stuff - so there should be a nice upgrade from the last LP! Seconding this, feel free to spend the money on things that aren't just games, both because upgrading hardware/software/etc. still counts as improving the experience and also tbh after more than a literal decade of this bullshit you deserve to get a nice graphics card out of it or whatever.
