Apparently topical funfact from Czech Republic, the backwards land; the biggest and most everpresent grocery store chain in the country is owned by Andrej Babiš, our current prime minister, a self proclaimed centrist (populist charlatan) and leader of the still best polling party which is basically 100% his fabrication pet project. Babiš is still under investigation for subsidy fraud and has great history of dodging taxes and unfair competition done just right to be actually impossible to prosecute. He's the most popular polititian here, still. The stores loving suck and I hated watching them buy/push out many of the more decent brands, for instance the Netherlands based SPAR, replacing them with stores that carry worse selection of worse quality food for prices that often aren't even better. Now, coming in there and making a purchase means directly financially supporting this political zit that is him personally. I guess we have decent worker protection laws still though so no nightmare stories about their employees I guess, except that they're now (like most retail places) chronically understaffed as the real unemployment in Czech Republic is extremely low to the point most sectors just can't get enough workers. This is my grocery chain story. PS. please gullotine Babiš

Wegman's is good, but the shopping center centered on the Wegman's is why my landlord raised the rent again. Since the Wegman's wasn't even a good enough tradeoff for the ridiculous increase in my commute (40 minutes to go 6 miles is ridiculous in a city with <50,000 people) I left the city entirely. So anyway Wegman's is why I can't serve on the civilian review board
