I haven't attended all of them, but I suppose they aren't entirely worthless. I still think their utility is debatable though. The terms and pacing of the debate are always set by the creationist because the burden of proof is always unattainable. It's why arguing in good faith with a cultist is completely impossible. Like, yes, I agree we should publicize as much resistance to this nonsense as possible--but the majority of the crowds seem to be of the 'owning the libs' variety and are equally uninterested in academic honesty.

Quite frankly, those creationist debates only matter when they're in an active phase of getting in public schools again. And then mostly, it's useful for driving the people operating those into letting it slip that their "intelligent design" is about God, at which point state legislators and various judges can strike it down for just being creationism again.
