I'd normally do a midseason review of shows without threads, but I just got a 4K monitor and it has completely changed what 24fps video looks like, now that frames divide evenly into the 120Hz rate. Some animes looks better, some look way awkwardly worse.

I binged 1-6 of Angels of Death and it was overall pretty meh. I liked when Zack and Ray were being silly together and it really needs more of that. Floor B4 was just tedious, where the previous two were ridiculous but things moved quickly. Also the OP and ED suck. idk if I'll binge to the end when the season is over, I'm definitely not engaged enough to follow week to week (plus I kinda looked up the game to see if the plot was really as obvious as it looked and welp that seems to be a yes)

for anyone who doesn't know, the version of to be heroine that got subbed is a broadcast that chops out and speeds up a bunch of bits in every episode and it's so absolutely godawful about it that the original staff complained about how badly it hosed up every sense of timing and pacing in every scene it's really awful

It got licensed by Netflix, so the only subs available for Baki at the moment are edited google translated subs. I wouldn’t say you should be in a big rush.

these sociological problems in japan go way beyond the abe administration and the need to tie everything bad in politics to one specific person is kind of annoying, especially when it's an area of politics you only have second hand knowledge of that episode of kitarou deserves a ton of praise for what its trying to do and for being a good episode in general, not because its an epic own on any one specific person. Also, the author of Kitarou fought in world war 2 and wrote an autobiography about it, as well as including some elements of that into kitarou. Toei definitely deserves credit for taking the ball and running with it, but it's not something they threw into the franchise apropos of nothing because of some specific direction, it's just an accurate adaptation/modernization of the original material. edit: iunno where 'kintarou' came from lol Endorph fucked around with this message at 22:22 on Aug 12, 2018 |
