I'd also rank Okami as the best Capcom-made Zelda, by far. And I say that actually having liked the Oracle games!

I hadn't played it since the Wii, and I am so glad I re-bought it. It holds up well, and the joycon motion controls for the brush are so much better than the wiimote version's.

Can you use a button-press for the weapons in the Switch version? Because using wiimote waggle meant any weapon but the Beads was pointless.

Yup! I don't think waggle-to-attack is even an option, afaik.

The whole thing feels way smoother than playing it on Wii did. Still get the occasional lovely line or circle, but it's not too bad.

I started with the Pro Controller and then switched over to the Joy Cons and I agree, the Joy Con controls are great. You only use motion with the brushes and it’s much faster and feels very intuitive. I’m only a few hours in so I don’t have much of an opinion formed yet but I will say Kamiya’s influence is immediately apparent in the design of the wood sprite and the behavior of the perverted artist bug guy.

I didn't occur to me that Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes would be a good fit for handheld mode on the Switch. That's pretty tempting.

There's no like Mario Maker style gallery or anything where you can discover things, there is file sharing but you have to type in codes to download apps. Miiverse used to be pretty good for finding codes, rip, but there are Japanese wikis that catalog the good stuff, and people post things to twitter also. IDK how much you'd get out of it though, most of the fun for me was loving around inside of this weird imaginary retrocomputer

AND the base game itself is not only on sale, it's on for the exact same as it is on Steam*! (That's pretty rare; the vast majority of the time the eShop port price is a couple bucks more, then sales tax on top.) So yeah, grab it or gift it before the promo ends next week.

Mario & Rabbids is also on sale for what's gotta be its lowest price yet ($39 CDN for base and $54 for Gold). I've only ever seen the retail cart (base) edition go down to $59 so that's a great deal too!

*I wish Nintendo would email you when your Wish Listed games so on sale like Steam does. Oh well.
