Seems to align really heavily with some of the slower old country music of like the 1930's to 1950's, but with an entirely different vocal style. There's hella filtering on it too as far as I can tell, so I dunno if I could give you anything that really sounds like it.

However, and I'll say this is just my take on it, in terms of it being a very relaxed kind of tone, evoking a sort of tropical theme, I'm gonna go with old Spanish guitar.

I really love this section in Steven Wilson's "Luminol" (from 4:50 to around 8:30 in the video below).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYfQ1I-VV7M&t=296s

Lazy, dreamy chords, ethereal harmonized vocals, piano, flute, etc. There are comparable sections in other SW/Porcupine Tree songs, but does anybody else do similar stuff? It vaguely of reminds me of CSNY or other classic rock, but that's never been my bag, and although I love modern prog, I've never really checked out the big name classic prog bands.

Modern prog rock is concentrated on a few labels, so if you find something you like, look at other artists who record for the same label. KScope and Inside Out Music are the two big ones I'm familiar with, but there are probably others as well.

Alright guys, I need help. So there's this pretty loving awesome band (I think anyway) called The Strike. Two major issues I'm having:

1. They've been around several years and hardly released much of anything.

2. Perhaps far bigger of an issue is that they've drastically changed their sound. They seem to have pivoted from horn-infused rock (I hesitate to call it ska, really, but I'll get to that with examples) to more of a like, 80's funky pop in 2018 sensibility. While I dig the latter, the former is SO my poo poo that I need more of it.

This is the song of theirs I first heard and remain absolutely addicted to:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ui-_IUylvoA

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good bit of ska/ska adjacent music (I absolutely adore Reel Big Fish most notably, and still to this day lament the fact that Spring Heeled Jack USA only released one album) but this feels a little different to me somehow. I think it might be the aggressiveness of the rock instrumentals and how clean but dynamic the vocals are. Their song "Warriors" is another pretty good example of this, though I feel like a few parts in this (the keyboard riffs in particular during the verses) were kinda an indicator of how their sound would evolve:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anNWKfhQxME

Is there any other band that sounds like this? I mean I'm not dumb, I know I can get my horn-rock itch scratched by a lot of ska, but there's something about this that feels at least a little unique, and I tried to put a finger on it, however ineffectively. Any help would be super appreciated. :)

Foxy Shazam maybe? Stick with the self-titled album onwards

And maybe The Cat Empire, it leans more towards jazz but might scratch the itch because it's very horn driven

It's a tough nut to crack because a lot of artists make songs like this as like their one-off, or it's part of a song, it's not really that sustainable to have that be your whole sound. For example, something like it is found in the intro and chorus of songs going as far back as Curtis Mayfield's Move On Up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Z66wVo7uNw. Even that though isn't really that high a tempo or that level of intensity over the whole song. There are bands that that use horns a lot and are high intensity, like Soil and Pimp Sessions, but that's more jazzy. So I guess the question is how far off the point are you willing to go, because that sound is pretty specific and bands generally try to not be derivative.

That's all well taken and a good point. It's a bummer because even Warriors hits that itch and it's a lot more soulful and less frenetic but I love the horn interplay with the rock/soul elements.

Another good example of this type of sound that I'm unsure how to classify is Parachute's "Something To Believe In" which, appropriate to your point, is a one-off vis a vis the usage of the sound. In that particular case there's also some gospel feeling vocals in there too.

Obviously The Strike songs I cite are much more horn heavy but I guess I wish more rock used horns in general without going full ska. Thanks for the insight and additional suggestions. :)

Both of those songs share an element of having a driving rhythm that pushes a relatively laid back verse leading to an explosive chorus. It's a tried and true structure for making rock anthems. It's used all over the place, so if you loosen up your requirement of horns, you'll find a lot of that. It's just upbeat and uplifting. Ignoring the horn, if you split the difference between those songs you get something along the lines of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKsxPW6i3pM

I know a number of bands that have horns but I'm not sure they'd fit what you're looking for stylistically.

Stone Foundation is an option but probably more soul revivalist than what you may want.

Rumble Strips may be an option. They're very influenced by Dexys Midnight Runners; their vocalist in particular was very influenced by Kevin Rowland.

John Newman might be another possibility; not really horn-driven but he has some and I feel like he has a sort of similar vibe.

Here's one that's a bit older but which you may find interesting - probably the best mod revival band other than the Jam was Secret Affair, whose lead singer was also a trumpet player and wrote some pretty nice horn lines for them.

Edit: Also, I think Spring-Heeled Jack USA had two albums, didn't they?
