Oh hey, my dad used to work for Comex, as an underwater welder. 2 weeks at a time in those diving bells and tiny pressurized habitats, but not quite that far down. I think he dived on Heliox.

Eh, he's Dutch, so very much used to schlepping around large objects on two-wheelers.

Some homemade OSHA to report here. My parents are greenhouse farmers and grow tomatoes and cucumbers and other stuff hydroponically. Well they're getting old and this will be their last season, which is probably as well.

I was recently informed that last week my dad was climbing around near the top of the greenhouses because he had repairing something, don't remember what, something with the ventilation hatches perhaps. It was probably 12 meters or more up in the air when something he was standing on gave out and he only managed to not fall by getting his arms around a nearby beam, so imagine the scene, a 66 year old man hanging in the air by his arms 12 meters up in the air above a sea of tomato plants and trying to get his footing back. Fortunately he did or we wouldn't have talked to him this weekend about it.

Worst thing about that picture is the worlds dirtiest sharpie.

Like that other guy said this is pretty normal lol. It can be pretty hard to keep stuff like sharpies clean in contaminated areas because you're usually more concerned with cleaning the hell out of stuff that has to leave said area. I'd be willing to bet the tape on there originally held some kind of tether for FME purposes too.

Any time I'm in containment we do what we can to clean up tools and stuff but priority one is getting the job done without getting crapped up and leaving ASAP to minimize your dose.

So in a lot of cases if a thing's destiny is to never ever leave a contaminated area its cleanliness is very low priority. Especially if it's something disposable like pens, sharpies, etc.

Doubt it. What were they gonna do, go cause a road washout somewhere?

However the backside of that crossing looks prepared and well used and I bet theres already a significant amount of traffic that made it before that truck. You cant really see the surface the truck is on but it seems pretty solid. Theres no way that driver was just Leeroy Jenkinsing his way across.

Washouts like this can mean rural communities getting totally cut off from basic supplies, and emergency shipments like this can be literal lifesavers. Highly doubt that was a routine shipment of useless stuff.

FFxi is capped at 56k speed, so pulling all connections would do approximately jack poo poo, unless you were on a dialup connection.

Agreed on all points, I was just riffing on the giant CROWLEY on the side of the truck. I've seen big rigs like that make 12-point turns on the end of a "road" scraped by bulldozer out of a forested bog. That "road" got my 4x4 pickup stuck more than once, but the 18-wheelers would still drive in to pick up product. They're surprisingly capable on shyte roads.
