Like many of things that millennials are responsible for killing, I'm glad Hooters is dying. I can look at boobs from every ethnicity, size, and situation with or without clothes through a series of tubes on the information super highway. I don't need to go to a lovely wing place and awkwardly hit on women not interested. I can do that on my own.

I haven’t seen a Hooters around in a long while. Maybe I just don’t care enough to see them.

I think 2010 was the last time I went to one?

Never been inside a hooters, they always seemed skeevy.

But the restaurant themselves are nowhere near as skeevy as the majority of hooters customers.

I haven't been to one since maybe 2008? And that was just because a friend of a friend was working in the kitchen in one so we went to get a beer there until he was off work.

Titty coffee stands are still very much alive and well in the puget sound area, though, probably a combination of all the military bases and a little bit of boeing.

gently caress, those bikini baristas still going strong? The one with the cow print booth were actually really good coffee. It seemed a bit weird but it was good enough that both me and my wife would go to them all the time.

Don't ever go to the hooters casino in Vegas. It's all the terrible things about hooters just multiplied. And sadder. I went there with a buddy whose friend was in town staying there. Being there about 20 minutes was enough for me.

And seriously who enjoys lovely food and women wearing 1970's "sexy" outfits while being fake friendly to you? Ugh. Gross.

That's Vegas in general, though. Being there sober means you quickly start feeling this visceral Dickensian misery, but the casinos know that and they keep the booze flowing.

Nah. I lived there for almost a decade and this place, right near the MGM (so only off the strip by a couple hundred feet) is easily one of the saddest, shittiest places there.

But hey, the lovely wings are more expensive than a normal Hooters so they've gotta be better, right? Right?

I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am.

I took my girlfriend to Hooters for her birthday last year.

After a really good Thai dinner, that is, and it was her idea. Went in for one crappy beer, there was a table of university students and a single older guy drinking a glass of wine and eating a steak.

Las Vegas is a shining beacon of class and dignity compared to the festering, raw anus that is Atlantic City. Such a monumentally lovely place; it’s readily apparent why Trump was so drawn to it. The only way I’ll ever go back there is to piss into the Atlantic as a final gently caress you after the ocean reclaims it.

It's probably the staten island/other new jersey accents that really make the whole thing pop.

When I was in college my roommate insisted we go to hooters on Mondays for their discount wings and it was always the skeeviest experience. It was full of old men with waitresses sitting next to them clearly going through the motions, all while trying to keep the touching to a minimum. The wings themselves weren’t that good and after two weeks I was done, the whole experience felt wrong even to a horny college student. I’d rather get my lovely discount wings at the campus bar.

A few years later I lived in a house with a roommate who had worked at hooters. This is anecdotal, but She told many of the girls would do drugs before their shift to get them through the day. Can’t say I blame them.

Hooters usually slings Tyson wings. Or at least the one I cooked at in 2014 did. They're better quality than I saw when I cooked at Buffalo Wild Wings, usually larger too. If you got lovely wings at Hooters, it's usually because it's overcooked, or one of the two dozen plus sauces was a bad choice.

That said, the mens restroom was always cleaner than the womens. They paid better than the local bars I worked at previous to it, too. The volume is goddamn insane though, so if you go during a rush, you're waiting 20+ minutes for chicken.

The fried pickles and that burger with pico/guac are loving great though.

I went to Hooters in Wichita for my buddies bachelor party, why we went there for dinner prior to going out was beyond me. The hooters waitresses were cool and we ate wings that weren't good but weren't bad. They did some sort of bachelor party type song or dance or whatever and that was it.

That's my hooters story

When I went apartment hunting last year my mom went along to help out. In between places we figured we'd get lunch and Racks sounded like a barbecue place to my tired mind. I accidentally brought my mom to a knockoff Hooters.

The food was actually pretty alright though

Hooters sucks poo poo. The wing sauce is watery, and I'm pretty sure that the only thing keeping the chain open are old horny salesmen that live on the road. Food sucks at Tilted Kilt and Twin Peaks, but at least those ones have decent beer specials. I was really hopeful that my company was gonna stop reimbursing meals at those places, but so far no luck.

In Albuquerque we had Ojos Locos, a knockoff Hispanic hooters that had the worst Tex-Mex menu I've seen in my life. It was like something they borrowed from Trump Tower.

Ojos Locos is their last sad stop before outright prostitution. Even the worst degenerates I know won't start their night there. Its the place you go to where you go to see the "sad titties" discussion happen in real time.

There's an Ojos Locos in El Paso that a few of my co-workers LOVED going to. The food was poo poo, and the people in there were always mid 40's and trying to hit on these women and it was truly embarrassing to be there.

I think most of the women there were probably people you could find on backpage or craigslist sex service sites....

Yes, iirc it's because of some loophole where they get to claim that their waitresses are "performers"

I've got no particular love for Hooters but when I've eaten at one, at least the food they brought out was hot. The one time I went into a Twin Peaks, I was with my dad and we ordered some beers and a plate of nachos that came out suspiciously quickly. They must have made them for someone else a half hour earlier, and couldn't be bothered to even microwave them before they brought them to us.

I spent like two years fighting rednecks at a strip club, and for my dancer friends, some of the highest paying customers just wanted to talk to a scantily clad woman. It’s weird, they’d just pay 770$ an hour to hang out with a stripper in the private room and talk.

Beats me.
