They are selling model 3s as fast as they can make them, and still have a huge backlog. Demand is not the problem.who really expected all the deposits to actually buy a car, get real.

Demand is not a current problem, but it is very much a problem if you hold the expectations for the company that many investors do. Their backlog is what; 420,000? GM delivered ~750,000 vehicles in the second quarter alone. In the United States. In that same quarter, GM had an operating profit of a little under $2bn. All of this would be irrelevant if the two companies didn't have almost the same market valuation. In my opinion, that tells me that TSLA has a very high bar to clear to justify its current price, much less growth in that price. One of many questions on my mind is what is the company going to do when they clear their backlog? What is the end game for this $50bn company when the people camping out in front of the Apple store buy their new iPhone and go home? The fact that the line is already thinning out does not bode well. If Tesla was a $5bn company I would not give it a second thought. Hell, I might even invest in it since I like their product. However, that may be the problem. People are piling into the stock because they like the product, and not because of any reasonable expectation of financial return or business logic.

I would also say demand and support for the stock price is not a current problem if you have people mortgaging their house to buy the stock on margin.

If you want to make a Trump based play over the next day or two, Cohen pleading guilty and Manafort trial ending in a guilty verdict is gonna make Trump go ballistic. I think he’s gonna do something destructive to feel important. Bought some UVXY and gonna sell in a day or two.

Stormy Daniels is not fake news but it is old news, and people are so wiped out by the 24/7 news cycle that only something directly indicating impeachment will make much of an impact beyond a bit of a dip.

So now Michael Cohen's lawyer is going on tv and saying Cohen is prepared to outline how Trump colluded with the Russians to influence the election, and the market is green. That's ok, I guess, I get that there is an argument to be made that none of this matters much. But there is a significant chance it *does* matter quite a bit, yet VIX is cratering today. VIX cratering on news that 2 of the President's inner circle guys (one who was around more than a decade, and was his go to "fix it" guy) are going to prison? The president's long time lawyer rolling over completely and saying he is going to outline crimes committed by the president? and VIX craters, from an already low level, to near 12? This is not a healthy market
