That was a different one. The Death Knight Ainz lost track of after the events of Cairne village and the Empire found it, restrained it and has been conducting experiments on it.

ainz isn't the sole source of undead in the whole world. there are necromancers and naturally occurring undead running around all over the place.

The entire anime takes place in the moment before the main character dies from having a stroke from spending a decade playing Yggdrasil and only eating Doritos and mountain dew.

When I think back on it, I might have misunderstood the implications of that line and might have thought the 5 year thing to mean 5 years having passed since Ainz revealed himself to this world.

I feel bad for those foresight peeps already, I hope at least the noble daughter paying off family debts makes it out of there somehow. Maybe she eyeballs the magic level of an opponent and just nopes out of there right away after none of the other workers listen to her.

I suppose the best I can hope for is that a magic ability like that makes her too useful to kill or make into an undead, and that Ainz's crew has done their homework enough to know that. It's clearly not a foolproof skill though, unless the first scene of the next episode is her freaking out over Momon and Nabe's crazy magic power level.

Wasn't Nazarick made to be an insane death trap for any invaders during its MMO days? Yeah I can see these low level scrubs just walking out freely where appropriately leveled players got massacred.

Nobody broke Nazarick in the MMO days. Though this is mostly because of lack of effort. The only party to get into the higher levels got wiped by a strategy they hadnt seen before, considered it bullshit and gave up. After that everyone else just considered the place unbreakable and didnt try. Ainz estimated if the last party tried again and didnt die to the trick they pulled off they could have broken the dungeon.

Well to be fair, I think they're raiding fake copy Nazarick that Ainz has rigged to learn something or other about adventurers, so I'm not expecting the full MMO death trap. Everybody's doomed, but I'm hoping that the new characters I like are slightly less doomed despite Overlord repeatedly showing me my hopes are not to be trusted, except for when true Lizardman love is allowed to flourish.

Also if someone can help me out since I haven't been paying enough attention: during the kingdom king/princes/princess scene they casually mention that 100,000 people were move around and kidnapped. Did the Ainz crew permanently abduct that many people, and did they bust out enough crazy magic to sneakily move around that many in the first place? I'm sure this was some stuff from late last season that I just tuned out on, but If someone can briefly break down what went down there I'd appreciate it.

Yeah I pulled up the wiki:

Additionally, the Great Tomb of Nazarick is said to be one of the most feared and legendary dungeons of YGGDRASIL. As Ainz Ooal Gown acted the role of an "evil" guild, there were many invaders who attempts to try and capture the dungeon, but all of them were repelled without exception. The only attack that ever reached above the 6th Floor was an alliance comprising of eight guilds and mercenary NPCs. They numbered with about fifteen hundred people united together against the dungeon. Despite the invasion from a guild alliance with their combined strength, it was still not enough for these invaders to even successfully conquered the 8th Floor as they were stopped halfway by Victim and the NPCs inhabiting there.

So yeah, scrub workers will be fine I'm sure!

I don't have an answer to your actual question, but the 100,000 number is a mistranslation. It's "only" 10,000.

The anime seems to have skipped that detail which is a shame since it kind of shows the difference nazarick denizens have. Some of good aligned denizens went against the plan and saved some of the kidnapped people for example which kind of pissed off the evil ones.

Yeah, there are good-aligned non-Pleiades homunculus maids and other NPCs that end up in dutch with Ainz for a while because they rescue some of kidnapped civvies.

Kinda sad Swordasshole didn't get a more excruciating death, though the scene served as an interesting point, since it means the Nazarick forces can learn new skills, and possibly even level?

The adaptation of this arc in the anime is much, much better than the light novel version because it's dramatically more concise and to the point.

The "kidney stone" and insect bits were a bit much. Other than that it was pretty par for the course of an evil overlord's dungeon.

Yeah, the Neuronist's 'scene' was quite overwhelming (though I couldn't stop looking at his hilarious fingernails). The Kyouhukou encounter however was incredibly striking: the ominous red light illuminating the regal roach amidst a mountain of insects was probably the most intimidating the Nazarick crew has been so far.

If nothing else, now everyone who didn't read the LNs can get an image of why this arc is so controversial/reviled. The LN spent a whole lot more time detailing the backstories and personalities of all the workers, and it spent a lot more time detailing the horrific torture they faced.

Considering their power and clothes/equipment quality, who can blame them. I could totally see Aura and Mare making their new servants crossdress because of their creators views.

Pure pure Pleiades season 3 is great.

To recap, season 1 was Ainz accidentally undoing his emotion suppression.

Season 2 was Ainz finding himself in an alternate universe where Nazarick was a corporation, with him as CEO

Season 3 is the aftermath of Pandoras Actor casting spells *dramatically* while disguised as Ainz. So the Pleiades try the whole 'posing while shouting your attacks' deal, which spreads to the rest of the tomb.
