Berrying gyms is by far the best way to earn gym XP New gym popped by house. Golded in 16 days, was on the other side of town overnight for 5 of those days. Just berry the poo poo out of it.

I’m on holiday in France, and yesterday found a gym up the top of a mountain hike that had been held by one guy with his Jolteon for 375 days straight. I really wanted to claim the place for myself, but the signal was so weak I started having login issues, then got hit by the “crash moments after loading” iOS bug. Reinstalling the app on a mountaintop with only an edge connection isn’t really feasible

I'm gonna have to go hunting tomorrow. I've taken the last two days to clean and reorganize my house and life to some extent. I feel like a random day of Pokemon hunting and low level raiding might be nice. I'm bummed I only hit one Ho-Oh raid. I know my sister is gonna be pissed because she didn't catch a Ho-Oh on the one raid we did. She's got autism and can't drive so her only way into town and Pokemon is my wife and I. Should I trade her my Ho-Oh since she missed out due to me not going in? I have the dex entry and that's all I care about, so I wouldn't mind giving her mine.

I finally bought a Gotcha yesterday. I have auto-catching disabled, and only auto-spin on. Even when right next to a stop, it won’t spin. It’ll just keep vibrating and telling me “Hey, there’s a Pokémon in range” and never actually spin the stop.

You disabled auto catching on the gotcha, not the setting in the app that tells the go+ (or gotcha) to catch Pokemon. The reason nothing is happening is because it's waiting for an input from you.

Chairman Mao is talking about the in-game settings, not the setting in the Go-tcha companion app. The game is still notifying you about 'mons nearby and expecting you to take a manual action to catch them. You need to turn off the in-game notifications (Settings -> Pokemon Go Plus -> Nearby Pokemon), then the game will only notify you about stops.

Changing the auto catching setting only changes whether or not the gotcha auto catches the Pokemon for you. You need to disable it in-game if you want it to stop catching them entirely.

So my super-nice counterfeit pokemon go plus also has the autospinning mod built in. I've got pogo running on my phone at work and it lights up every couple of minutes from spinning a stop or catching a mon. Gonna be rolling in items soon.

What is the most efficient way to grind stardust with a Star Piece? I have two but I don’t want to pop them until I have a game plan for the 30 minutes they provide their bonus.

Most efficient for a star piece would be lining up your 7 day catch in a row, as many egg hatches, field task reward, raids and gift opening as you can on a community day or Moltres day

I came within seconds of beating my first Machamp raid. There was the tiniest sliver of health left and when the timer hit 5 seconds remaining the raid ended. I almost threw my phone. Turns out it's a common raid problem.
