Wow, this thread is getting pretty scary. Does anyone have any ideas for how I could feed a bunch of posts from a particular something awful thread into one of these procedurally generated text dealies?

Reading this made me want to polish and make available the engine I used to make those book titles earlier, and so I did. It's a really simple markov engine but might be semi-easy to use(???) if you're on Windows: http://www.hempuli.com/Text_generator.zip I've included some book lists from Wikipedia by default. E: I recommend trying to set the Depth value to 3 or so

To me it has seemed that if the algorithm checks about 6-8 letters when generating, the resulting words are mostly coherent even if the sentence structures aren't (and that actually works worse for stuff like game/movie/book names if you aim for funny stuff because they're short enough not to really have variations at that level.) If you lower the amount of letters down to 4 or below, things change and while the results aren't usually funny enough to really share, it's still pretty amusing to look at. Movie title "Dirty Huey's Revelationald McBoing" (I think the n was 6 for this?) made me chuckle when I saw it but I think something is lost between generating it & sharing the more nonsensical results with people that makes them not very interesting past that first chuckle, haha.
