Lots of LA studios I've heard really mixed things about. Ok pay, but not great for the area so that means long commutes (1.5+ hours one way). Also crunch still in full force (God of War and Last of Us 2 being recent bad ones). Rockstar pays ok but its obnoxious politics and its "we crunch, deal with it" death marches are legendary.

I'd loving die if I had to commute for 3 hours each day. I did 1 hour one way for a few months earlier this year and I hated it.

You should.

I've got an hour commute but it's basically on long stretches of farmland so I just play a podcast and cruise with the windows down.

Hell yes you should. Trapped in a tiny subway car with the worst people for around an hour on average so I can be miserable for 8-10 hours, then do that same lovely commute all over again? gently caress the boss, no one should have to put up with that poo poo.

Also I finally punched a bear in Yakuza 5 and I’m just glad to be finally done with the prison segment.

I understand why Sega doesn’t want (or need to) waste the money onEnglish dialog but playing Yakuza for the first time in 2015 was a majestic experience for how poorly -yet sincerely - localized it is.

NANI?

The interesting thing is that they were quite happy to dub the Fist of the North Star game so it's possible that Yakuza not having an English dub is an artistic choice rather than a monetary one.

Michael Rosenbaum was Nishiki too, considering that he's best known for Lex Luthor in Smallvile having him be Nishiki must have been pretty intentional.

When I moved to my country's capital my commutes went from literally 1.5 hour one way to around 15 minutes one way. It wasn't the (only) reason why I moved but hell if that didn't make it worth it. I can literally see my apartment building from my office window

Yeah, mass transit commutes are a totally different experience than driving. You can read, watch stuff, play phone games or shitpost, and generally not exert any mental effort on the process of traveling. It's a relaxing break from your day rather than just more work to do and lost time.

Went to PAX West yesterday and it was a crazy amount of fun. So many good video games, especially indie titles, in development. I got to play Praey for the Gods, and Ooblets, and both titles are great. I am so excited for these two games to come out.

Yeah I meant more quality as in successful product.

RDR2 looks kind of neat but I haven't seen anything that makes it seem like it'll be another detailed and cool simulation with a Rockstar Story attached. Plus hooks to funnel you into Red Dead Online of course. As far as AAA open world games go I'm way more interested in the new Assassin's Creed.

For me it looks like Cyberpunk 2077 is gonna fill that niche for me. I like curated story heavy experiences, and while the new Assasins Creed looks really freaking good, I'm just so tired of the series period.

The boosters are pretty cool.

Also the Antibirth mod is great and it becoming an official addon is fantastic.

Antibirth is an unofficial addon for BoI.
It's also pretty much the most popular addon for it, and everyone seems to enjoy the hell out of it.

It's a ~work of love~ by a very dedicated group of fans.

I enjoy playing it, having it as an official expansion is fantastic news.
It's real real good.

If you like BoI you will be hyped for this becoming official
