Dont pay attention to the words. Pay attention to the commas, the clauses, the overwrought sentence structure.

Or, you can just say he's a lovely writer and hate him.

All the good Gawker writers got poached by other media outlets.

I kind of like Magary but I feel like it's mostly stuff for GQ that is good.

I enjoy Albert Burneko, especially when he’s writing about random bullshit like woodland creatures. Dave McKenna features are great.

Splinter lost some of their best writers recently but I’m a Libby Watson fan.

Its kinda weird for NIke to be using Kaepernick as a spokesman when they're widely reviled by many for their use of sweatshops and disregard of workers rights (not that any big athletic apparel company doesn't do this)

They want to sell themselves as woke.

Not to defend them, but exploiting labor practices of poor countries doesn't necessarily conflict with wanting to end inequality and police brutality in the US.

I'm more surprised that Kaep signed on than that Nike signed him.

But it's already entirely worth it for the chuds burning their shoes.

He's been with Nike since 2011, Rovell's original tweet made it sound like they've been paying his contract even though he's not playing

Apparently they signed him back in 2011 to an endorsement deal and just kept on paying him without using him. Probably easier to agree when you've already been working with them for 6 years.

Yeah, it's pretty funny, and reminds you of how the Soviets used to needle the US over the unrest of the civil rights movement.

Yeah, I mean their Just Do It ads featured an HIV positive runner back in the early 90's.

And as someone pointed out on Twitter, voters skew older and more conservative, but consumers are young and more liberal, so this makes total sense.
