Wizard Master posted:Meanwhile, Marge returns to giving her sex talk to teenagers, but this time she prepares with finger puppets. While the teenagers snicker, Marge fails miserably to get her point across about sex. Elsewhere, Lisa enjoys Bob's company despite Homer's usage of the Bunsen burner to toast the rest of the marshmallows since he already ate all the chocolates. At home, Homer tries to squeeze in some alone time with Marge, yet an angry Marge decides to use Homer as an example for her sex education class. Marge brings Homer to church to tell her class that she has abstained from sex with her partner for two days. The mere image of Homer and Marge touching each other gives the teenagers enough reason to pledge to wait until marriage for sex. To quote Wiki: quote:he episode received positive reviews from critics. The A.V. Club gave the episode a B+ rating and praised Kelsey Grammer's voice-acting and the episode's "strong, straightforward narrative."

Every Simpson only owns two sets of clothes. That's clearly baby Lisa in the hand-me-downs that will eventually pass to Maggie once she reaches the immortal age of 1.

That animation looks a whole lot newer than when that episode would have originally been illustrated E: checked on frinkiac, Homer finds out at the front door when he comes home during the baby shower. There are two flashbacks to when Marge tells Homer she's pregnant with Bart and Lisa and it's on that same couch. That has other continuity errors but that tweet is bullshit. e2: actually it is from that episode! Just later when they're discussing the pregnancy after Homer gets his job at the plant back. brugroffil fucked around with this message at 14:25 on Sep 6, 2018 |

Could be worse. I remember seeing on TV a few years back where they would fill the empty sides of the screen with commercials. I am under the belief that television doesn't want you to watch TV with all the ways that it tries to distract you from its content.

It sucks all around and it looks like it has some sort of weird image filter that blurs textures and sharpens edges.

Who-all remembers those weird cranks who tried for years to petition the TV industry and Hollywood to ban letterboxing (which they called "letterschlocking") and widescreen-formatted movies because they considered it a form of censorship They would come into Usenet groups and rabble-rouse and get into arguments that I think they thrived on. Twenty years later and I still don't know whether it was a genuine mental illness at work or someone doing "jokes on them I was only pretending" for like years on end E: Either way I'm still thinking about this long after he probably died, so I guess he wins Data Graham fucked around with this message at 21:51 on Sep 6, 2018 |

He hated it and would zoom the picture in to fill the screen as much as possible and refused to do it any other way. One Christmas, we put our foot down and dad got so mad and stubborn about it he slammed a door when he walked away.

I just read all 129 pages of this thread in about a week, and watched almost all of the clips. My favorite was the 2013 writer's reunion. I'm not sure how they managed to make writing the (once) funniest series on television sound like a miserable slog, but they were able to. And also you guys spent waaaay too much time determining where The Simpsons "jumped the shark" or "started its gradual decline" or "hit its lowest point". I mean I read so many conflicting opinions I swear you guys were trolling me.

I'm glad that my dad was one of the weirdos who actually understood why letterbox was superior. We even had some letterbox VHS tapes before DVD showed up on the scene. My mom didn't quite understand and I got a few pan and scan DVDs for Christmas before I upgraded my TV to HD.

The mapple poo poo isn’t even the worst part of the episode. The B plot is Homer thinking a Muslim family are terrorists. A fresh original plot for 2008.
