It's like you have to sacrifice a chicken every time you want a concerted airstrike. How hard - and I mean genuinely hard - would it be for the game to let you just click on a target and drop a pin on the map that said "if you're in range, fly here and kill everything you see"?

You can do a pretty decent job of this by obeying the carrier stacking limits, putting good officers in charge, and planning your strikes appropriately. I think the idea was that is was actually hard to deliver a concerted strike from carriers - the primitive radio, navigation tech, and target identification of the time caused raid groups get separated all the time, e.g. Midway.

It is kind of weird that you can't directly say "This fighter group should at least try to escort this bomber group," but you can usually make it work in practice by setting your missions up right (mainly correct altitude and range settings).

Then they destroy on of my supply convoys.

We see a nice bombing run today.

This is mildly disappointing.

This however, is more like it!

The carriers have swung south to target Truk – this may give me chance to get more planes onto Guam!

I get a shock when the allies actually attack here rather than months of constant bombardment.

They then send some Fijian commandos in to take an uninhabited island.

Some surprisingly aggressive moves from the Allies there, maybe they will be about to give me a challenge!

The scenario suddenly changes at 12m13s in the video, just a hard cut to deployment for another scenario. Was the interim video lost in the previous splicing error?

e. I guess it's just the very end of the first scenario lost, not a huge deal.

Alright, no worries then.

It's an interesting game, how you sort of only capture parts of maps and then have to re-fight on those maps later, with reinforcements, but sometimes with spots of map behind your own lines that aren't held and can have enemies set up in firing positions in them. Makes things really murderous during the first ten seconds after you unpause.

I shoot up Manus, but apparently do no damage.

We protect our ships on the way home.

In rare news, I have to report my men retreating.

Hmm, they seem to be on the offensive somewhat.
I have also decided to cancel Charnel House, I don't think throwing away thousand of troops is going to work – so Operation Silk Road is now a go, the invasion of India from China!

I'm going to march two hudred thousand men six hundred miles across the mountains and invade India!
They'll never see it coming!

How exactly are you going to supply 200,000 men across the Daxue Mountains?

E: I guess 150,000 of them are going to die from exposure trying to walk across the Daxue Mountains so that does rather neatly solve most of the issue
