That's all that really matters to me, going back to the familiar place where I know that Stardust is on tenkaichi street, pink street is on the east side and that's mostly worthless unless you wanna see something lewd, and the champion district is out of the way and annoying

Doubt it, but chances are you won't see it before Kiwami 4 or something.

Imagine how much more sad and lonely we would be if not for the hard work of lowtax. Here's $12.95 to his aid.
I liked it, but my hands and fingers lost it with the final fight in the demo. Need that special Xbone controller for handicapables in a PS4 version.

Where do I get the technique book for the heat action that's right below Essence of Golf in the heat skills section of your stats? This is for Kiwami 2. That's the last heat action I need to unlock.

Combat looks very Yakuza-y including heat actions (called EX Actions). Also there's a dotted line on the map showing the best route to objectives

Still really digging Yakuza 5. I did absolutely all of Seajima's hunting stuff after I ignored it my first time through. Same with Kiryu's taxi stuff. It was fun and this game owns. I feel poorly for speaking ill of it when it first came out.

Decided to replay 0 on Legend while I'm waiting for Kiwami to be released on PC and I'm wondering if I need to step things up that much? Do I need to git gud at the combat or can I just load up on stamina items and mostly button bash like I did when I played it on normal?

I think the blurriness is by far the biggest problem with Yakuza 4. I can deal with 720p, 30 fps and the occasional aliasing (which I never thought was a huge issue with Yakuza 4), but the blur just makes the whole thing look like a mess. I think it was meant to make the visuals appear less jaggy and did a decent job on that front, but... well, just look at this:

Yeah, it was really difficult to get used to. I spent a while trying to figure out if something was wrong (I tried playing it using that PS streaming service, and thought it was because it was streaming at a lower resolution). Felt like I was wearing glasses with the wrong prescription or something.

Fortunately 5 was much better in that reward.

also love how you can recognize street locations like your own actual home town. yakuza is the best.

I actually vastly prefer Yakuza's type of "much smaller but highly dense" open world to the type in games like GTA or whatever. The games do a greater job of actually making you familiar with the area; after a while you can navigate places without even needing to check the map.

Lol if the first thing you do in a new Yakuza game isn't "turn off the minimap"

poo poo, I've only played 0, Kiwami, and now 1/10th of Kiwami 2 and I turned it off about 4 chapters into 0 because I found myself watching the map more than the environment.

Each game in the Yakuza series feels like an entire season of an anime, and the trailer for Project Judge feels like it's selling a season of a spinoff live action show. I like that the focus is on the murder mystery premise and not on the character like most other videogame marketing is.

Also, as long as we're making pipe dreams a Rurouni Kenshin based "Battousai Ga Gotoku" game would be great since A) Kenshin's attacks would fit in well as heat moves B) the whiplash between comedy and melodrama is already there, but ever since the creator got busted for child porn I don't think anyone wants to touch Kenshin with a ten foot pole

I'm going to beat a defendant half to death with the judge's gavel while the jury claps and cheers in the background. Then the defendant will get up, hold his arm and say how sorry he is, after which the judge will give a speech on the importance of friendship while sappy guitar music plays.

On the moon... they don't make Neo Kobe Pizza.

I just played the Judge Eyes demo and I gotta say I am 100% down for Nagoshi's wild ride of 22 Short Films about Kamurocho. The idea of a Yakuza Game Universe beyond Kiryu and friends, about the stories in this weird city is something that hadn't really occurred to me before but I really like it. It's really jarring watching the debut trailer and seeing how many people get murdered in that short span of time and realize that death happened so rarely in Yakuza. I liked the investigation gimmick, will probably get a lot more complex in the full game, and the chase battle stuff is pretty wild. Are they finally bulldozing Little Asia? I wonder where all those immigrants are gonna go...

Also hey Nagoshi thanks for doing tailing missions that aren't instant fail and are built around a life bar rather than arbitrary distances meaning death.

Yeah, I'm in for this. Get Ishin over and then this, or the other way around. Tanimura in 4 was an interesting premise, it's real neat that they've pulled the trigger on making a Yakuza game where you're a cop for reals.

And I'm super happy if they bring back the style swapping for Ichiban's game.

It's the best thing. If the guy turns around the life bar at the top of the screen starts filling and you have time to run away and get into a hiding spot or duck out of sight.

There probably won't be multiple endings or ways to fail cases, rather you'll be tasked with objectives like finding clues and piecing together the narrative.
