I liked them when I was a teenager but I have a hard time imagining I'd enjoy revisiting them. I feel like I have (some) better things to read now.

Luke and Owen buying 3PO and R2 from the Jawas was the first thing they shot.

The 3PO costume was a nightmare to get in to and cut Daniels up pretty badly, the first day of filming was the only time he ever wore the suit for a whole day.

"Red," the droid that was supposed to malfunction and blow up, was radio controlled. The controls were in the head. The head was supposed to explode. The exploding head had been built as a separate prop. So the droid could not be filmed moving and exploding at the same time, as it was supposed to. They ended up repainting a fiberglass R2D2 prop body, putting the exploding head on that, and pulling it all along with a piano wire so it could move while exploding, lol.

They also filmed the scene where Luke and 3PO scan the horizon for any sign of the runaway R2. They were supposed to film the twin sunset scene that first day as well, but the weather didn't cooperate.

This is rad, thanks for replying/finding

Don't know about the legs, but there's a novel which explains that Jabba the Hutt bought Darth Maul's penis to add to his collection.

Disney won't go with this storyline only because they can't sell Darth Maul dildos to kids.

This is false. Disney lost between $50 - $80 million with SOLO. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/solo-will-post-first-loss-disneys-star-wars-empire-1116927

At least in star wars 8 a guy got thrown in a wood chipper. The only interesting thing I can think of about star wars solo is how it came about that a hollywood film made by professionals was lit so badly

The entire thing has such a weird rear end lighting and calibration, I cannot understand why they made it so purposefully ugly except to show how *~*dark*~* the film was thematically
