I accidentally put this in the "subtle" film moment thread, but it better belongs here. Here's a thing I just noticed about Starship Troopers. All the main guys are from Buenos Aires, yet at high school they play a future version of American Football, instead of a future version of Soccer. In no way shape or form, I don't care how fascist and controlling the over-reaching government is, would Argentina give up playing Soccer in favour of Gridiron Edit: I am a loving moron who for a second forgot simple geography. Watch Hot Ones on youtube. Interviews where they're dedicated a time at the end to plug but by then most of them can't focus enough to actually do it

In Avengers Thanos teleports across the universe specifically to a planet, but is still far enough away from his goal he has to hike like 5 miles. Why not just teleport right to where you want to go?

I could understand that though, he was taking directions from Gamora and it's not like she's above trying to shiv his rear end if he lets his guard down. He heads to where she says but is far enough away to see if there's any trouble. That or Gamora had never actually gone to the spot with the gem, cause she didn't seem to understand what was going on when they finally got there. She may have just known the general area.

On the topic of dumb comic book/superhero movie stuff, how is it that Wakanda has a seemingly egalitarian society with women's rights etc, but also a total lack of democratic rights and an absolute monarchy with very shoddy succession laws. Oh and so apparently a massive military despite not having any relationship with the outside world for ages. The place pretty closely resembles North Korea tbh
