It would be a loving rad motorcycle / dirtbike / atv hauler if you lived somewhere rural-ish.

How expensive are those rad kei fire trucks? Are they even sold anymore?

Seik posted:How expensive are those rad kei fire trucks? Are they even sold anymore? The kei fire trucks are sold but since (in the US at least) we are waiting for them to turn 25 years old we have to wait for a (usually rural) fire department to cycle out their tiny truck. Upside is they are always extremely well maintained, clean, low mileage and RED. Downside is never ever any AC. I'd say maybe one shows up every couple months? The larger fire trucks are far more common. KakerMix posted:Paging DJ Commie This sold for $3160, that seems a very fair price. Tack on the assumed-3k extra fees and that's a mint condition Mazda Familia GT-X for less than $5200 bucks. With 55k miles total. EDIT Also there are a total of TWO Nissan March EK10 Super Turbos up for auction KakerMix fucked around with this message at 15:46 on Sep 12, 2018 |

Here's the rundown on the BG Familia: That a GTX not a GT-R, those had a slightly different engine spec (GTR is sodium filled valves and ball-bearing turbo), and yes even the GTAe which is the Group A/N holologation Familia was made in LHD. There was one LHD GTR at Dr. Terry Bennett's auction but it went to Canada as a track car as I recall and no Mazda forum that I'm on knows what happened since. I assume the JDM BG cars rust like crazy, my California-only GTXs all tended to have some rust in weird places, mostly sunroof related. The BG cars are more solid than the BF ones we got here and are probably performance bargains closer to what an early WRX imported is now. They don't take well to launches on sealed surfaces over the long term, but all the imports I pored over look really nice. Greece, Germany, and Poland got LHD ones for sure, I assume Scandinavian countries got them as well.

I'm old and all, so I like looking at the 70's-early 80's stuff. Came across this Corolla which was our family car when I was a kid, same color scheme and all but when we had it I NEVER thought we had a cool car. We also had a white 77 or 78 Celica, slightly cooler back then. I'd love to have a sexy version of one of those cars some day. https://auc.japancardirect.com/aj-3h5LhlkUxQinpy4.htm Snowy fucked around with this message at 03:02 on Sep 13, 2018 |

I have zero experience with cars from that era, but the styling tickles my pickle in just the right way. If I ever get more garage space I may have to do something stupid and import some early 70s Japanese metal.

Oh that's kind of a bummer, I wouldn't mind a FWD turbo BG, just to avoid the AWD issues.

That was a fun thread. I seem to remember a Dora the Explorer window shade on the rear passenger window? And I think the hood flew off and smashed the windshield on one of his first on-street test rides.

I've already put in the inspection and plan on bidding pretty hard for it, I really liked the white one I had, this one has some sort of scripty-orange on the sides. Assuming of course the inspection doesn't come back with 'shits hosed bro'. Re: the warehouse Yeah we're pretty stoked. Have some things to take care of to get the final approval from the Fire Code people (why we were there today) and wouldn't you know it the guy that came to inspect also happened to be real keen on turbo diesels so the fire inspector guy might be into a Land Cruiser later. Plus we went through the insurance today and we upped our coverage and our premium went down

Auction Sheet posted:- 5mt, ac, one owner, actual mileage, diesel turbo, warranty booklet, spare key, owner's manual, inspection record, interior dirty and tears, undercarriage painted, other dents scratches You're right, I really should. Sheet translations are real easy, it's the third-party inspection that's important. If I could glance at sheets and pick it up then yeah I could cruise through the auctions faster without having to ask for translations.

The Google Translate phone app is able to make translations from the camera. I've been using it to translate the stickers and stuff on cars you've posted. It's a bit finicky, and it really hates stylized text, but it mostly works. No idea if there's a desktop equivalent.
