I bet it's more like some people saw that she could work as a marketable generic teen hero for teen team comics, games, cartoons and the like, so would rather her not star in any more complicated comics. I assume lots of sad stuff was to occur in this book.

If this is the reason the book was cancelled, then I'm very upset; Viv was created in a bummer of a book that kills her off in her fist appearance and proceeds to keep being a bummer for the following issues. If Cain wanted to keep it that way (which I can't be sure of, since Mockingbird was quite fun), then she had a better handle on her than Waid did on Champions. Anyway, yeah, they are gonna kill her off.
