Self checkout is good in theory, but in practice every time I decide to use one, I have forgotten that I bought beer and/or discounted items and I need to bother the supervisor anyway.

You need a supervisor for discounted items? Are stores in your area really so lazy they don't update prices in the machines for things on discount?

pretty sure Uk still uses MPH for road signs. at least Scotland does. and in Canada it's still very common practice to refer to peoples' height and weight in feet/inches and pounds.

It's simple: Weight in metric except in butchers where it's lbs/ounces and people where it's stone and pounds Liquid in metric except blood/beer/milk which comes in pints Small distances in cm/m but larger distances in miles (height is measured in feet and inches and dick is measured in inches)

Liquid in litres and millilitres except for beer which is in pints that are bigger than the pints in America, and blood which they still call a pint even though I'm pretty sure they take 500ml. Distance in feet, small distances in inches, really small distances in millimetres, large distances in kilometres. Gas tanks in liters and driving distance in km, fuel efficiency in miles/gallon.
