I played Super Hang On on my 3DS this morning for the first time since I played it as a 12 year old with their first console: the megadrive.

Whenever I played it back then it was so crushingly tough and I would hit those BirdBird signs over and over.

I would always run out of time around section 3 or 4 of Africa and fail equally poorly on the others.

Today I made it to section 5 of Africa and nearly the end of the race

Super Hang On is just Bad Outrun, and Outrun 3DS is the best version. You know what you must do.

i just had a code scare where suddenly everything stopped loading in properly but it turns out that's because in early testing i initialized the player class whenever i called the to-stage code, so it would load the custom player data properly at the title screen but then wipe it and replace it with the defaults when it switched to the stage. but it's fixed now

i did this all because i needed to see how i handled the secondary on-cast animation but i hadn't implemented it so i don't have a template to adhere to at all and am free to put it together however the gently caress i want. but i guess this is technically always the case

It's weird because Big Boss is (possibly) autistic and handicapped and he'd probably survive longer in a zombie apocalypse than anybody else while trying to put together settlements.

I forgot who said this but apparently Capcom had a radical reconstruction of their company before RE7 alongside the development of a new engine and RE7/RE2/DMC5 are the fruits of that plan. It's kind of cool that between these games and MonHun/Megaman 11 they are clawing back to an exciting top-tier dev again.

capcom has always been good devs struggling under crap management, if the direction they're taking is making it easier for those staff to make good stuff then i'm glad for it

It can be tough to deal with in media because the experience is so different from person to person since there is a spectrum to it with a couple dimensions involved. At the same time, it�s something that a lot of people in the game dev community and gaming community at large have experience with and some people understandably want to express themselves about it in what they produce.

There�s no 100% right way to do it but a definitely wrong way to do it is to use an autistic person as a sacrificial lamb in a zombie game plot point. Ironically, a couple people I know with it enjoy zombie settings because they feel their relative social and emotional detachment would benefit them in that world.

yeah the company is experiencing a renaissance but SFV is a bloodsucking mess and the longdead MVCI came up on its 1-year anniversary. Have to guess Capcom threw in the towel with MVC when they saw it was useless to go against the negativity + ArcSys/Namco/Arika/SNK experiencing a resurgence. Hell even DOA is coming back so we're at the point where nobody needs to rely on Capcom as the fighting game cornerstone when they're just leaning on pro tour and microtransactive poo poo.

There's this time management game series called Heart's Medicine and the head surgeon is this guy who needs his meds or else he falls asleep and is dazed and iirc he can't get his meds because the hospital head stole all of the pharmacy's meds in order to get high in order to distract him from his father issues.

ANYWAY, head surgeon is just this dude who is all like "I can only deal with 1 person at a time!" and so you're forced out of the surgical ward at the beginning because he refuses to take on 2 people at the same time and then his profile is just like "He is also autistic" and I'll post a screenshot later once I can get the game installed.
