The Colonel posted:3d tales' bigger problem is that it figured everything out just right with graces f, and then, didn't use that system ever again for like six years and then when it brought it back they made it significantly worse and had to spend a game unfucking the terrible version of it that they'd made. the xillia games inbetween still have like, functional combat systems with some neat new additions... but they're using the same base mechanics as symphonia/abyss/vesperia, even though they just made an entirely new system specifically to evolve the games past that older system imagine graces f with proper air combos

I'm gonna effortpost a little about it: You start out trying to take down the Lachiemi because they wrecked your home, but as you play through the game you find out the Lachiem became so lovely because they fought a war with the Vilete. Your hub is full of people from Vilete who got stuck on Lachiem, and you end up helping a lot of them, and through the quests they learn of the heinous poo poo that Vilete did and renounce them; you also learn that Lachiem started out as the good guys resisting fascism, but over time they became the terrible force that killed your family. However, you also learn that Lachiem resorted to summoning demons to fight Vilete, and this is roundly condemned by literally everyone (though you kill the leaders of the demons in the past, weakening (but not ending) the alliance between them and Lachiem). It's really, heavily implied to be criticizing Lachiem of resorting to Bad, Awful Things just to defeat the Magic Nazis; that's what I mean when I say it does some both sides poo poo. The game's true ending has you choosing to take out either of the leaders of Vilete or Lachiem; I chose Vilete because obviously I'm going to kill a nazi when I have the chance. I don't know what happens if you choose the other.

There's a lot to consider with how many Batmans you could fight at once. Are Batmans inherently predisposed to help other Batmans, or can you just kinda pick them off one by one? How big is the area you're in? Is it mostly flat or is there a good amount of verticality? Maybe two Batmans try to Batgrapple you at the same Battime same Batchannel and they become Batentangled.
