Don't forget that while he was catching up he was literally shoving other riders who were going at a reasonable speed out of the way. It's impossible to oversell how commanding a performance that was. That crash, with a level playing field, would have taken anyone out of contention. They didn't show time gaps at the time but he must have lost around 2-3 minutes. Then he wins the whole thing by 1:25. Virtually solo the whole time from the crash. It's just mind boggling. It'll be really interesting to see where he goes from here, except to Quickstep. btw he also has 9 caps for the Belgian U15/16 football teams, because why not
