They are fun to listen for all the cliches of power metal. At the same time, they're quite acceptable as a quick synopsis of military history. For example, the lyrics to Panzerkampf: quote:Into the motherland

Obviously, because anyone who truly, honestly admires anyone with blood in his or her hands is a juvenile piece of poo poo. Trin Tragula posted:It's so bad it loops all the way back round the other side and becomes good again Speaking as a huge aficionado of power metal, this describes all of power metal. The entire genre is shrouded in so many layers of irony that at some point people lost track and just honestly started enjoying guitar solos by grown men dressed as elves. Their old albums are good, but when I saw them in concert and halfway through a song I realized it was a heroic homage to a guy who was in the loving Waffen SS, something in my mind just went crack and I couldn't enjoy them anymore. They've also released eight albums without growing or maturing musically even an iota, which helps. Mycroft Holmes posted:if you can't enjoy their song about the soviets conquering berlin, i don't know what to tell you That one and the one off their first album about Overlord are their peak. It's all a gentle downward slope into banality from there.

Hi, I have a request for a video that I believe is not just a product of my fevered imagination - It is a demonstration of munitions effects on your typical suburban home ranging from intermediary cartridge all the way to a 155mm shell that basically just levels the whole neighborhood. Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

In case there are people out there who aren't picking up on this, when an English person says "The accomodation was of rather poor quality", what he actually means is "It had half a wall and no roof, it was facing the prevailing wind, it was full of rats, and it flooded about five minutes after the rain started".
