Depending on how the spell interacts with curvature we could have orbiting zombies.

I was just wondering this. If it's "absolute" magical force capable of ignoring gravity entirely, they're just going to fly in a (relatively) elevating straight line for a while and then zoom directly into the sky and off the planet, into space.

This is a pretty dangerous spell!

What is west if not a clockwise movement around a sphere?

OTOH if it rotates how you experience gravity by 90° then they'll stay the same altitude as they orbit the planet forever.

I gravitated towards the Greens, eventually even joining the party itself.

The Linke is a party I grudgingly accept exists, but I've learned enough about DDR-history I can't bring myself to trust a party that was once the SED, a party leading the corrupt state apparatus ...

It isn't! "West" can also mean stuff like left from Earth on a galactic map. And since the galaxy has the shape of a fat disc, and not a sphere, welp.

I'm assuming the magic works relative to the planet's mass, otherwise the spell wouldn't appear to be working right to the people using it. Granted, if the story went full Spelljammer the rules would probably change.

If the story went full Spelljammer there's no reason the planet couldn't be totally flat, or torus-shaped or something.

This is a good comic. I find it kinda funny, even if Lyndon is kinda sad. When he uses the Scepter, the dreams in which he's dying are the best he's ever had.

It's a mad world.

I’m not sure how Mr. Painatorium is responsible for the giant zombie wurm, but I agree this is somehow his fault.

Did not expect giant zombie wurm.

The artist apparently has pretty crappy camoflage even when everything is painted up. Pacifism magic really needs some causality limiters.

Incoming Thorsby biology explanation that this zombie is actually a species that evolved to prey on elusive predators; the eyes aren't pink because of zombification, but to filter out all the camoflauge.

If she jumps she could get a good upward speed going even if they had a similar weight.

If she lets go, how long would it take before the elusive artist dies of exposure and hypoxia? 5-10 minutes?

If it's terminal velocity is the same as a human it'll hit the stratosphere in like 3 minutes, I imagine it would still be alive at that point so it depends on how well insulated it's fur is on whether or not it has frostbite enough to make the spell fail.

Last Visible Dog
Jul 30, 2015

Maybe if she can get the thing to empty its paint supply, she can get its weight down just enough to bring it back down. And, this being Klara, she'd probably know the best way to get it to do this.
