Give me Tony Romo and Michael Irvin in the booth. All other cowboys quit the job. Just Romo and Irvin. Every goddamn game would be a fantastic trainwreck.

I want them to put Cutler in the current booth, and don't have him say anything necessarily, but have a "Cutler cam" that just shows his face in the corner so I can see his disgust while the other guys talk.

You know how the central plot flaw in Armageddon is that it seems it would be easier to teach astronauts how to drill than to teach drillers how to be astronauts? It also seems like it would be easier to teach broadcast professionals football than to teach football players to be broadcast professionals.

I said it in another thread but Witten is kinda like Romo if you took out pretty much all of the things that make Romo a good commentator. He's fuckin awful and it's kind of mindblowing he got a gig on MNF out of the gate, except for, y'know, Jerrah.

Can't believe they gave Jason Witten and Dennis Miller MNF gigs but wouldn't give Rush Limbaugh a shot.

General Dog posted:Yeah, he was apparently terrible too (I don't think I saw much MNF that year) It just didn't work. Tirico thinks the problem was that ESPN was trying to push MNF towards being a talk show like PTI, and that it didn't work during a broadcast. Of course, Kornheiser's fear of flying didn't help. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...m=.a4811af59eec

Witten was the perfect Pats TE that never was, fundamentally sound but the personality of a parsnip. He would have saved the 2006 Patriots playoff run by just catching short poo poo all day and being vanilla as gently caress.

107.5 in Green Bay has Harry Sydney. Harry is a good dude. Nice to people. Can't talk worth a lick. It's like listening to Bill Cosby do a Fat All routine as a co-host of a Packers homer's local call in show. "Gernonmo Alfson", "A-rod Robbers" For example, other than mispronouncing player names atrociously, he once called the Brewers "The Millers" repeatedly during an entire segment until being corrected off-air. Athanatos posted:He's actively getting worse the more comfortable he gets Yeah he won't even shut up and let Boog say something funny/insightful anymore. Just slobbers all over the big name player's cock (last night it was Rodgers, the week before Drew Brees, then Andy Reid and Big Ben) and raves about tight ends and how they should be used. Yesterday the defense would make an amazing play and Witten would just keep on blabbering endlessly about Rodgers and Graham. He also always has a fascist take handy about players who are fighting to be paid fairly. Play fucked around with this message at 17:42 on Oct 16, 2018 |
