Primed Cryo, Continuity and (until Melee 3.0) Reach are all stronger primed mods on the basis that Pressure's only really better when maxed while the others are better than stock when a couple pips out. Still, if you're a minmaxer like me, it's vital for those multi forma riven builds. Get it if you've got the other three, for sure.

Viper Wraith is a decent crit blaster on its own, but really shines if you get a riven since it's five disposition with solid base stats. Make absolutely sure that you use Hexis mod with it!

Right, so, I rolled a Tiberon Prime riven that gives +194% crit chance, +120% status chance, +138% heat and -54% magazine capacity. With VS and HS stacking the crit multiplier to 8.4x, this means it's hitting for roughly 5k to 13k damage per bullet, which is more than my Lanka can do against eidolons. Is there any reason — damage reduction or whatever — that this wouldn't make a much better, rapid fire anti-dolon option if I spec for radiation?

HundredBears
Feb 14, 2012
A well-modded Lanka with a full zoom bonus will match your raw dps (not counting reloads or damage type) somewhere around a 2x combo multiplier, plus all of its damage benefits from the radiation damage multiplier, and it will have to reload less often than a Tiberon P with that negative. It doesn't take very many shots at all to hit that 2x multiplier: as long as you can hit consistently with it, the Lanka is better.

Edit: Thinking a bit more, it'll take a higher combo counter to match you if you keep Vile Acceleration in, but that also leaves you spending an awfully high proportion of you time reloading.

i actually underestimated its damage a bit, having played with it some more, and that's with Tainted Mag installed to bring its mag size back up to 40. Easiest thing is probably to just try it and see what happens, I guess.

e; ...and the answer is 'no'. For some reason damage drops to the hundreds, with the occasional 6,000, against eidolon synovia. drat. Oh well, it one shots most other stuff at least.

I just started playing this game a few days ago and it's really fun and quite reasonable in terms of monetization. I am only a bit into it and am working on unlocking Jupiter at the moment but I had a story related question.

I get the basic premise of the world, in that there was a big human empire, they had a bad war with a bunch of sentients, and the current state of the system is essentially a psuedo-feudal state of affairs with a bunch of borg cultists and evil megacorporations fighting over the scraps, but it still isn't clear exactly which faction the "Tenno" is or what we're trying to accomplish. I get that Tenno are special for some reason but Lotus keeps referring to "command" or some sort of military strategy that isn't made clear.

I get that lol who plays action games for the plot, but what exactly is the player organization fighting to accomplish aside from "weaken everyone else because they are lovely?"

You will find out more as the plot goes on but the jist is the Tenno are powerful but few, so they ally with cool guy groups like Cetus and help out, as well as digging up weapons and lore from the old empire. They're pretty mercenary.

I'd really like more lore on the Tenno as a group.

For now just think of them as the elite super soldiers of the previous human empire. It's not 1:1 but sorta like the Jedi minus the republic are a cut above storm troopers. Or think us as Schwarzenegger in the last action hero. Yeah just go ahead and watch the Last Action Hero. It's really underappreciated and pretty fun, like Warframe.

I started playing earlier this year, so I don't know if any of the older events went into this more, but the Tenno, under guidance from Lotus, are acting as a "balancing force" against the Corpus and Grineer. I think this is seen best when doing their Invasion missions. As I understand it, by killing their leaders/stealing their intel/slaughtering them wholesale, we're keeping their power approximately equal. The theory is that should one become strong enough to take out the other, the lives of everyone else in the system (which has been terribly underdeveloped but is finally getting attention through Cetus and soon Fortuna) would get way worse.

Basically, by keeping them focused on fighting each other we're able to keep them from fully killing or subjugating everyone else.

Unfortunately because so much of the lives of colonists and civilians is basically unknown, we can't really say whether this is an accurate assessment or not.

Do invasions for the corpus until you get marked, then do some solo missions until they show up.

I forget who but on a dev stream someone talked about getting sick as a child. So there mom was driving them to the hospital but the car got a flat tire on the side of the freeway at night. And some thugs pulled up and started harassing the mom. Then a shotgun showed up, kicked the thug's asses, changed the tire on the mom's car, and left without asking for so much as a thank you.
