UBS was financing some of this until 2007/08 when their internal documents I was reviewing as a UBS-hired third party legal investigator generating a report of no wrongdoing for the NY state AG. Not profitable as of that point to provide private structure insurance on pretty much the entire southeastern seaboard without massive government subsidies. They knew. They were also articulating an opposite view through some ex senator they'd hired as a lobbyist to deny climate change. Argued against increasing for new structures' building standards to hardened cement structures because the homes would be "unaffordable"
