It's that time again - another team has entered the Hall of Fame! Donald Dunn, lv. 59 Farfetch'd So I learnt that in Ultra Sun and Moon, Farfetch'd could have First Impression bred onto it via Smeargle egg move shenanigans. This became something of a passion project as Donald Dunn here became my "ringer" for my Ultra Moon team. As well as First Impression, he has Leaf Blade and Quick Attack egg moves, with Aerial Ace as a fourth move. He's Defiant (thanks to breeding from a poketrasferred DUX) and Adamant with a maxed out Attack IV, and between a Stick and Pokemon Refresh, every attack is a crit. Look, if I'm gonna take a Farfetch'd to the Elite 4, I need every advantage I can get. The nickname is a reference to Donald "Duck" Dunn, bassist for the Memphis Group, who frequently backed Booker T on hits like Soul Limbo and, yes, Green Onions*. What better nickname for a duck bearing green onions? Notable moments include schooling Guzma repeatedly with Aerial Ace, opening the fight against Ultra Necrozma, and delivering a good First Impression on Hau's Raichu-A in the chamionship battle.  Naija, lv. 59 Primarina Starters are as starters do, and with my third trip to Alola I filled out the trio. She's (I've had a surprising number of female starters over the years) named after the music-powered mermaid of Aquaria, and always on hand with Sparking Arias, Oceanic Operettas and Moonblasts and great sp. attack and defence when things got tricky. Pulled through a Stone Edge from Hau's Crabominable to Moonblast it down in the championship battle.  Pokémon Goo, lv. 59 Muk-A I've already learnt of Muk-A's awesome power from fooling around in competitive a bit in Moon, but now it was time to take one on a journey. Amazingly tanky, especially with Black Sludge, even shrugging off Ground moves sometimes - although she had a tricky time dealing with an Earthquake from Hau's Tauros. Got the poison proc on it though! Also landed the finishing blow on Ultra Necrozma. Fun fact: Pokémon Goo is pretty much what I call all my Muks now.  Plug Life, lv. 59 Vikavolt Always the bridesmaid, never the bride - until now. Charjabugs (also both called Plug Life) gave me invaluable support in my Moon and Sun runs without quite making in into my E4 teams. But with a Vikavolt evolve-y area getting added at Blush Mountain, this seemed like a great chance to evolve one early enough to learn Bug Buzz naturally. Quick Claw did a lot of great work, and he finished the fight against Hau by toughing it out so I wouldn't feel sad, landing the final blows on Hau's Noivern (as well as taking out his Leafeon).  Constance, lv. 58 Lilligant Petilil was another bridesmaid from the Moon team, and it's very cute, so I was determined to bring a Lilligant to the E4 this time around. Sure, I arguably had plenty of Grass coverage thanks to Donald Dunn's Leaf Blade and Plug Life's Energy Ball, but Leech Seed is always handy to have around, Ground type resistance was frequently appreciated, and STAB Own Tempo Petal Dances are no joke. As mentioned, she finished off Hau's Tauros in the championship battle.  Roxanne, lv. 59 Tyranitar So I was wondering how to round the team out - I started off thinking Marowak-A, but didn't want to have to deal with the bizarre frustration of him learning Shadow Bone before evolving. And then I learnt that you could catch Larvitar in Diglett's Tunnel. Hmm. Hmmmm.... Extremely powerful once she evolved just in time for the Ultra Necrozma fight. Sand Stream could be a bit of a double-edged sword, especially against Molayne, but she did fine. Survived an Earthquake to take out Hau's Incineroar. Phew! And finally, it's time to update my "Hall of Fame" Hall of Fame! Uh, if you will:  *granted Donald Dunn joined the MGs after they recorded Green Onions, but I'm not going to let that spoil an amazing pun. He probably performed it hundreds of times live anyway. I appreciate your dedication to spreadsheeting your E4 teams. I usually just bank mine up to the current generation and keep them in a special box of glory. I should put them in a proper spreadsheet sometime.

Thanks everyone! Absurdly my brain is already thinking about what mons I'd like to use on an Ultra Sun team, which is silly because a) I've got all this postgame to do and these guys deserve some continuing adventures and b) rushing straight into a new game sounds like a good recipe for burnout. I do already own it though...

I actually played through moon a few months ago for the first time and jumped right into ultra sun and didn't feel any burnout, I transfered all my pokemon asap so I didn't have to waste time catching or evolving any repeats and used a completely different set ( all eevee evo's) to play through so it felt pretty fresh to me, the story differences help too. I'd just do your postgame and move right on!
