If you guys ever watch DiplexHeated he does lots of videos for Men of War Assault Squad mods and custom maps. He has a series of 40K mod videos where he gets these colossal two thousand man Death Korps charges against Chaos positions on Vraks.

Men of War is crazy good for portraying modern squad warfare on a mass scale. It does what Company of Heroes did only better. It's janky as gently caress and the engine is crap but the level of detail is insane.

Men of War is absolutely the best relaxation RTS out there. Despite the heavy realism (or attempts at), the fact that you're typically controlling dozens of individually distinct units at a time and that the AI can actually be fairly ruthless, there's no better game for setting up a defense and watching it go. If I can do that with Warhammer too? Knee deep in the boners.

you act like the crowd who bought Nier: Automata cares if the gamedev is a horndog or not and the characters were designed with fetish aspects

I bought Nier Automata for the existentialism and because I liked Nier and Platinum’s other games. The horniness was a distraction. It’s seriously one of the best games ever.

Having watched bits of it it seems like someone put a quite interesting plot into a murder robot upskirting simulator.

That is more or less accurate. The game is also a little more entertaining if you pronounce the main characters' names "Tooby" and "Nynus" because then all the sad parts become blackly comedic parts

It's actually more of a murder robot featuring upskirts if you decide to do that with the camera simulator.

It's pretty neat how it'll transition from third person to side scroller to almost twin stick at times and such.

The main stumbling block people have with it besides *gasp* an rear end! is that they quit at what's basically a third of the way in because the game calls it an ending instead of chapter 1 or Act 1 or something. Like getting an ending to the Stanley Parable by following all the orders and then shelving it.

I still haven't played Nier: Automata yet. Haven't played Haydee, either, but in either case, I think I keep putting it off because I know I'll get depressed.

Yeah, I heard a quote like that from the creator of Senran Kagura once (Anime Titty Ninja: The Game.) His entire justification for why all the girls looked and acted the way they did (paraphrased)?

"I just really like tits and rear end."

Had never played a single one of his games before, but drat if I couldn't respect that kind of honesty.

The fact that it's called an "Ending" is extremely relevant to the whole plot tho. The game is full of meta stuff and every name is deliberate.

It's more of a reference and subversion for those who played the original Nier than anything.

I just mean that it certainly doesn't help how not fool proof the game is and people keep making mistakes like leaving the game running in the middle of fine tuning your settings while you're cleaning out your garage or slow roasting ribs or something so they come back and have themselves basically soft locked as the game makes you sit watching nothing in real time.

Best comparison I've got is stopping a Final Fantasy 6 playthrough at the transition to World of Ruin.

Eh, I found myself having very little patience for Automata. Admittedly, I did not get very far in it at all. And yes, I know how it picks up after the first fakeout ending. But I hated the camera, the combat, the quests, and most of all the enemy design - seriously, outside of bosses, the enemies are the most boring goddamn things I have ever seen in a modern game. The whole thing was just so full of stupid little annoyances that story aside, I could not stomach the gameplay at all.

Mind you, yes, the music is stunning.

Out if morbid curiosity, does anyone know if Arthmoor is involved with Gunetwork at all? It's the website where snobbish Bethesda game modders who feel unappreciated on Nexus go to upload their asset rips from other games while telling people who just want mods and don't want to play on the forums to gently caress off.

I can't help but feel that GUN was made less as a response to Nexus and more as a symptom of the paid mods fuckup seeping into parlor modders brains, which is why I'm curious if Arthmoor was involved in any way.
