It's too bad there can't be Fallen Empire Megacorps. Also doesn't quite work with Stellaris' blank slate start but it'd be hilarious if a bunch of rundown branch offices staffed by a couple dozen aliens from different species and no janitors suddenly turned into a sparkly clean hyperfuturistic offices because the shareholders came back from their millennia-long space cruise.

I would really like a Rogue Paperclip Manufacturing empire that was programmed to make paperclips and now ruthlessly procures all available resources to produce paperclips.

Edit: preferrably to complete megastructure Paperclip balls in every system that eat both the planets and the stars in the system and leave behind a giant mass of paperclips free for anyone to use.

I'd love a Rogue Servitor Megacorp that's descended from resort bots gone rampant, and now are on a species-wide quest to pamper all the sapients. Set up travel agencies in other empires, advertise your permanent vacations (no euphemisms, that's exactly what they are!), hula cyBlorgs, the works!

There's mods to unlock them for player use, and if those caravaners aren't available in vanilla, it's one of the mods I'm seeking out. I love weird purposeless swooping greeblies like that on my spaceships and I'm vaguely disappointed by the lack of them on player shipsets.

Our glorious political masters have, in their wisdom, decided to form an alliance with a rag-tag bunch of freedom fighters right when the Federation has us at a tactical disadvantage. Unsurprisingly, this has resulted in the Feds firing on our vessels...

New UI looks sweet AF. I hope I can customise shortcuts as research doesn't have an F key in that screenshot.

Edit: also, does anyone actually use the collective fleet things in the bottom left, or do they just take up space?

Helim needed to be invisible.
They're new ships, but not shipsets. So they're not customizable in the way player empire ships need to be.

Yeah, this whole thing is really cool. It's a lot of work for them, but I hope some day they go back and add more cool stuff to the other government types. So many of them feel really samey right now- give my military dictatorship a special decree that lets them call up the reserves to temporarily boost the fleet cap, but make them vulnerable to other empires supporting coups that kill your sweet level 7 dictator and set you back to a level 1. Let my space commune fund worker revolts on planets with high levels of inequality, and maybe form allied space communes if they get their independence. Give collective consciousnesses the ability to stealthily assimilate captured pops and then release them back into their original empire, giving the hivemind vision of their worlds and fleets until they catch on and purge the infected ones. If I'm at war with a machine intelligence, let me ask friendly machine intelligences to design malware to deliver to their systems.

Paradox would be able to come up with much better ideas, but I'm glad the megacorp really seems to live up to Stellaris's promise. Some unique strengths, a serious drawback in harsher planet caps, and overall enough difference so that your government type won't mostly just be a name.

Considering how they updated and are still updating Catholic/Muslim/pagan gameplay in CK2 after releasing the radically different merchant republics and nomad realms, I'm confident that they will do something similar in Stellaris.

Just keep in mind, more pops is not inherently better in the new system. Unless you can find work for those pops they're just mouths to feed and unhappiness generators.

UI scaling has been in the game for some time now, no? I've been using it ever since I upgraded to a 4K monitor and discovered my eye sight isn't as good as it used to be. It's not perfect but it works.

I think the bordering requirements for rivals and vassals is too strict. It should be distance from nearest border so yes, that small country only 1 jump away from you next to your ally can be your vassal. Yes the huge scary blob 3 jumps away from you and bordering your best friend you have a defense pact can be your rival.

Like it's good to have a mechanic to prevent that country on the other side of the galaxy 300 jumps away from becoming your vassal or a safe target for a meaningless rivalry, but so often there's a country that very much is close enough to be a meaningful rival and you can't.

Too easy to manipulate. You rival the big blob on the other side of the small kingdom, then you get the small kingdom to close it's borders and now you've got a rival who may as well not exist.
