Just started watching a streamer who literally took a ten minute diarrhea dump break in the middle of a match while parked outside the Spider’s lair and it turns out his server was completely empty of other players. How is that possible?

How is that possible? It happens from time to time. Maybe one in twenty matches last time I was playing several matches daily. I would assume it's not intended and is some consequence of the flexible start matching.

it's the reason they're changing how the matchmaking works with 3.0. from what I understand players got sorted into games based on a rolling queue timer, with no logical splitting by the system. So far argument's sake its 10 players per match. 61 people are queued simultaneously. when the timer runs out it starts 6 10-person matches and 1 1-person match. with the updated matchmaking it'll split up the numbers so there'll be a few not-quite-full matches and far fewer empty matches.

Oh my god guys, the Winny Aperture is actually REALLY good now. I just gunned down 3 hunters in a row from an opposite riverbank while they fought over the bounty. My partner shotgunned down the other 2 and like that we'd wiped the map.

I dont think this was ever in the patch notes but they made it so the aperture sight winfield is only slightly blurry in your peripheral vision and is actually useful

I'm really curious about this game. I hate Battle Royale games but I really want a good pvp/e thing to get my friends into since we don't have any games to play together right now and haven't since Destiny 2. What state is it in right now and is it likely to be finished?

Solo mode has no teams just solo players. Surprisingly I find it more frustrating than queuing up solo against duos because of the rampant camping snipers.

Yeah solo mode is just a camp game. even if you spawn on the boss and take it out and banish before anyone gets there, its 100% impossible to get to extract without meeting 5 snipers on the way. The only way to win is figure out where the boss is, figure out the most likely extract route, and set up your own bullshit ambush.

(Unlike e.g. PUBG where there's nothing to do in between the school shootout and the end-game.) The battles are also more interesting because of all the items and the map design. And they're less about FPS skill and more about tactics. My buddy and I almost never straight-up engage try-hard FPS players anymore, because we couldn't win the typical mid-range shootouts (they're better at clicking heads and have better guns). This way, we actually manage to kill about 1-4 players every match even though we suck at shooting. I wouldn't play it for the PvE though, the PvE is just there to help the PvP.

Well, i just got the option to recruit a guy with a crossbow. time to try that out Edit: it ended with two dead hunters and a stolen bounty. drat it is nice. the 2nd guy didn't know where his bud died from. his buddy just keeled over and the dude starts freaking out. I like it. Edit: Just played a match where I killed the spider with a maul, banished, and then ran to extract with maul the maul charged. run right into a hunter waiting to ambush me in some bushes and I just bash his face in. My buddy and I were getting ready to lay siege to the bounty guys under chapel when he got blasted by a loving Nitro and set on fire, then every other team showed up and there was a massive battle royale inside the compound. So the last week or so I accidentally figured out that the Veterli Deadeye + Sabre is like the best combination for me of all time. Anything medium-long range I snipe with a lower-zoom scope so I still have peripheral vision, close range i zig zag and charge them with a loving sword. Not for nothing, but the framerate seems a lot smoother too. Though far from perfect, I haven't had any fights where it felt like I lost because the game clunked up. Instead I've lost them because I am terrible.

I chalked that up to the time of day having much less complicated lighting effects rather than them being capable of optimizing anything.
