I actually think it's like a FOMO insecurity. So much of goon culture is about figuring out how to get Optimal Enjoyment out every single food, product, and activity, so trying a new game without knowing that is anxiety-provoking. Basically they need someone to say "got the Hunter Axe? Great. Now throw that poo poo away!" before they start playing.

I still haven't cleared Bloodborne and I think it's both a shame I haven't experienced it and I'm happy that I still have unexplored sections of it.

there's this one part in City Shrouded with Shadow where it makes you move a couple boxes with a forklift to progress and the path-critical boxes all trigger cuts that automatically move/shift the boxes for you because if you try to lift anything manually it'll vibrate through the floor or your forklift will launch into the air and kill you for no reason

Len posted:Is that game as rad as it sounds? If you like Disaster Report then yeah, the conceit is new but it plays just like all the other games except with even more jank - it runs like poo poo, the load times are bad and there are constant cuts everywhere, the camera still sucks, etc. I wouldn't care except that it would drop to 5FPS during QTEs and kill me because my inputs were disappearing. My main problem with it is it doesn't branch the way the main games do - in those there are multiple endings and you can influence the direction of the plot and your character depending on your choices but in this one it's pretty much just mad libs and it doesn't matter what you say or how you manage the relationship with the sidekick. It's still fun and all the choices and optional missions are as dumb as they ever were, it's just not replayable in the same way.

the only important bloodborne tip is that you get unique light and strong attacks out of backsteps (neutral stick + circle) not that its important to beating it, but fighting stylishly is half the fun

I feel the whole package is a bait and switch. Who wants to play the console port of the original rainbow six? It’s aged so poorly and is only related to the modern series by name alone. The jp list looks better but still misses some easy wins
