i don't know whether to get the iphone 8 or the XR. the xr will probably last longer but i really don't like the lack of touchid and the notch. maybe i'll cling to my se until it's truly dead

I took my phone to the apple store. my battery was at 84% health which apparently is close to being "consumed". Performance management mode had been enabled which means my phone's performance was throttled to preserve battery they're replacing it. hopefully my SE will be good for a while yet. good thing, too, because I had a look at the XR and big phones still feel like goddamn poo poo, to me.

I got the xs and the notch is loving stupid, the gestures to make up for the lack of start button are loving stupid, the UI is not built for a phone that big, and face id doesn't work that well. I use a passcode instead of face id tho.

Well the Mac Mini configurator is up and, to the surprise of no one, they are wallet rapingly expensive for anything half decent. Well over 2,300 english pounds for anything even approaching zippy 2018 hardware. Screen, Keyboard and lovely magic mouse not included. Thanks Timb
