I remember reading that Christopher Lambert is basically blind without his glasses and cannot wear contacts, so everyone keeps putting him in movies where he sword fights and runs through crowds.

Why not just... use stunt doubles? Find some guy who isn't blind as hell who has luxurious silken hair and the same build, have him do the swordfights in Lambert's clothes, frame it so you can't really see the dude's face. Do a couple insert shots of Real Lambert so that it looks more convincing, even.
