I've been following this thread for way too long and I think this is the first time I've seen Funky Winkerbean referred to by name in Funky Winkerbean.

Good news, Claire appreciators! You can actually get an official You Are All Too Tall T-Shirt! I'm alas, too tall to have one except maybe ironically.

When Apartment 3G got as bad as Mark Trail is now, it was because the artist was developing dementia.

...although, bad as the art in Mark Trail is now, it at least has a coherence the final A3Gs didn't have. It got really sad at the end. Characters would change outfits panel to panel, scenes would be supposedly set outdoors or in different places but the only background would be vaguely apartment-like, details gradually smoothed out...
Mark Trail has been steadily getting worse as it's been using less copy-pasted and maybe slightly edited old strip parts. The A3G artist was falling apart: I don't think Jam Esallen was ever any good in the first place. Look at Edge of Adventure.

I thought of that, but I planned to make this with all the 3/4 close-ups of Rusty from October, so I had to make it with all the 3/4 close-ups of Rusty. It's just how it is. I think you're right and yours is smoother though.

"It's a funny life, Chalkie, you're 'ere because yer haven't a wife to go 'ome to - and I'm 'ere because I have."

I really like how Andy Capp has a background (usually) and varied characters in its strips. It's such a small thing, but after all of that Working Daze and modern Garfield and other lazy strips you just grow to appreciate the small things, like the artists bothering to draw in a dart board.
