Finally my e36 cleared all the emissions tests. Due end of this month and I think I figured out where the intake leak was but it took a week of driving for it to pass and confirm.

I spent a bunch of time driving around nowhere so that I could pass my emissions and help clean up the environment!

For the tunes, I'd say get a JB4 if you still have a warranty left or want to run methanol injection. MHD if you don't need that, though I'm not sure how long it takes to switch tunes on it.

Warranty just ran out which I suspect is why the seller was motivated but I'm not scared. Anything I can't or don't want to fix myself I'm willing to have professionally repaired since I have a lot leftover in my overall budget. I'm not planning on running Methanol. I'm going to have to do some research on the MHD to see how easy it is to tune on the fly as well as flash back to factory.

From what I've seen, MHD is pretty safe as it doesn't flash until everything is copied over. So you won't brick your car if you lose connection halfway through.

Have you driven both? They are not even remotely similar.

The SS sedan is a much more livable car if you ever use the back seat. It will likely also be more reliable and depreciate less relative to its purchase price. Also a better aftermarket for speed parts. They’re legit.

I opened the door this morning and the interior door card got caught in the door and pulled itself off of the door.

Glad I just ordered like $300 in trim to fix all this poo poo.

I also put a ZHP shift knob on it, washed it, and it feels like a new car.

Get the Vesseltracker info from your dealer when it's available so you can watch the boat leave Bremerhaven, Germany, then go to Southhampton, England.........and then pop up again a week later by the Panama Canal if you are on the West Coast, etc.

Yeah, it's been intermittent for a year now regardless of combinations. On a random day every so often it'll just turn itself back on until I restart the car.

Edit: With AC off, seems to cycle on slower:

How are BMWs in the snow, anyway? I assume as long as there’s a proper winter tire set it should be fine? I’ve been throwing around the idea of trading in my WRX for an E92 M3 but I’ve never owned a RWD car, so I honestly have no idea.
I went 2013 WRX->e90 M3. With snow tires, it seems fine. The traction control on the m3 seems very nice. I was expecting it to be worse.

My last car was an F20 LCI 118i with dual zone climate control and I could shut it off at any time and at no point did it ever switch itself back on. Same goes for my 320i.

Unless theres something different with single zone I'd say you have a gremlin.

Heck yeah!!!

So I pulled up to a hotel last night in my m2, and I saw a white (what I thought at first) another m2 already parked in the front. As I walked up I saw no m badge on the back and realized it looked a little different. The bumper, was stylized different, only to see it was an m4! It looked pretty dope and had the bmw performance exhaust, so I was excited to hear the difference with that on.. But I couldn't find the owner :(

The M4 with MPE would not sound anywhere near as good as the M2 IMO. I don’t know what they did to the S55 compared to the N55 or whatever is in the M2 but it has none of the famous BMW I6 sweetness IMO and with the MPE it sounds kind of like a trombone. It’s just really brash and shouty. Goes like poo poo off a shovel though, my boss has one which has had a tune put on it and when he took me for a ride in it I was like one of the girls in a Girl Goes For Ride In A 1200HP Supra video on YouTube.

Whew. Eight and a half hours down the PCH from S.F. to Malibu to my favorite biker bar The Rock Store situated among some of the best roads in southern California. The car handled beautifully especially among the fifty mile stretch of hand over hand driving from Monterey to Big Sur. Every time I made a little mistake the car just gave me more in the turn. The Gs I was pulling reminded me of flying aerobatic maneuvers with my dad. When I got to The Rock Store it was sadly closed but there there were two rich white guys with a Jaguar F Type and a Maserati chilling out front who invited me for a jaunt up the Snake, one of the more famous driving roads up there. Had I been inclined I could have easily overtaken them in their matching black GT cars but we kept it friendly and they escorted me down to L.A. for a really fun drive. Tomorrow is the Hollywood Hills. I'l tell you if I see Jay Leno.
