One reallly nice addition also is that you can press a button or evac even after a dash. I could do this in xcom on pc by clicking on a soldier directly but console never allowed it. Allows for much more high paced charges on a timer

They actually patched that exploit on PC with enemy within.

But they did leave the one where deactivated soldiers could swap weapons so that snipers could move then rifle overwatch.

Its honestly really impressive that these games are so good given how broken they are.

Thanks.

I'm really impressed with this expansion. It changes the entire drat game. I was expecting DLC levels of quantity. Although it seems to have taken out the two missions where you go to Dr. Vahlen's lab, and where you take Shen to the MEC place?

That's because you had the integrated DLC content on when you started the game. The DLC stuff is all still in the game, you just don't get the canned intro missions for it.

You can still do the intro missions by not integrating the DLC if you want to, they don't play well with the new fatigue mechanic though so they're disabled by default in WotC. Integrating is a net improvement to the gameplay if you've already run the DC missions during another campaign.

They should probably just add the story missions to the legacy ops screens for people who just want to check out the story bits at this point though.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. The multi-part story missions are coded as multiple consecutive individual missions, so when you finish them, your troops all come back on some Darkest Dungeon poo poo with incredibly low Willpower and go on two-week drinking binges to dull the pain of their new phobias.

Was it cloned on the enemy turn or yours? I can see it getting an action if the Codex got hit by a proxy mine while active or something.

That sounds odd. Did it do this on your turn, or did it get damaged on its turn, clone, and then the clone got a turn?

It alerted by walking into overwatch from out of LOS, stood out in the open instead of moving with its reveal move for some reason, got cloned on the spot, and the clone magically psi bombed instantly

I pulled it off but wow did having that thing unload and force moves on half my crew make killing the avatar a pain, since I was committed to skulljacking and doing that objective ASAP.

I've got the Tactical Analysis resistance order that reduces enemy actions to one if they're revealed on my turn. Doesn't' stop codexes from teleporting and dropping a Psibomb on the same turn when they have the debuff.

Yeah I'm pretty sure codexes have 3 AP because tactical analysis has never had any visible effect on them, just in case you were hoping that bonus would keep them from being able to do absolutely anything they want on their turn

Still an amazing bonus though.

So, incoming potentially really stupid question. I switched my game to French as part of an effort to practice the language. Some things happened, and I am not entirely certain what. I only very recently acquired wotc.
- I researched a thing that granted a single-use 50% discount on building a power relay.
- I realized I built it in the wrong place a split-second too late, after leaving the screen, and I can't seem to be able to cancel it.
- and it feels particularly bad because I think that cost 40 bux, and building a new one where I actually want it is 80 bux.

Basically this hinges on that what feels lik a stupid waste of research existing in the game :v:. Is it a thing?

Yeah you spent research time getting a one-time 40 supply discount on a power relay. Then you cancelled the coupon.

Has anyone here tried the Shadow Ops Perk Pack? I admit at this point I'm used to using the LW2 classes to the point I've started modding them to my taste, and I'm interested in trying them out for variety's sake, but I'm curious what other people think of it.

It's a high rank Templar ability so you'd only recognize it if you had picked it on one in the past

reminds me of either my first or second ironman run in enemy within. Turned out that if your experienced guys died early and if mutons showed up before you had carapace armor, they could just instantly kill your rookies with a single alien grenade. It also turned out that if your tech stayed current a bunch of rookies could reliably win the day, it would just be an absolute blood bath and only one or two of them would come home. I think I had 50 something deaths at the end.

It's really amazing how good ew was at convincing the player they're on the cusp of losing while actually being almost impossible to lose on anything other than impossible.

I had one run where I had to do that once, and exactly one rookie lived. She ended up becoming the volunteer, and her randomly-chosen callsign was Angel.

Operation Righteous Pyre. 3 heavies, a gunslinger sniper, a colonel ranger, and a colonel skirmisher all went in to visit with 68 Lost, the Hunter, and some of his Stun Lancer buddies. 2 came out lightly wounded, and 2 of the heavies made colonel (alongside the sniper). Operation name was fitting, if for nothing else all the fires caused by throwing grenades at clusters of Lost (and summoning more of them :getin: )

Is there a way to use the alternate XCOM 2 launcher with steam workshop mods, without having to manually copy the mods into its mod directory?

I'm trying to point the launcher at the game's steam workshop directory, but only one 1 of the ~7 games I have workshop directories for are showing up in its browser list, and it isn't XCOM 2. It won't let you manually type in the path either, so I can't get around it. I think there might be a windows permissions issue or something.

e: I was looking in the D: drive and XCOM is installed on C:

The tools of a hero mean nothing without a solid core.

This is just a fiddly thing, but I just noticed that in Steam it's not registering my unlocked achievements. I've got about half of them done, Steam knows I do when I view them specifically, but on the summary page "locked achievements" includes all 46 of them. Only seems to be happening with XCOM2, anyone know what's going on?
