I'm kind bummed Eleanor and Tahani forgave Donna/Kamilah when the latters didn't even... apologize. But I can accept the Kamilah situation enough and Eleanor seemed to forgive Donna more out of a sense of giving Patricia a normal life.

But I can accept the Kamilah situation enough and Eleanor seemed to forgive Donna more out of a sense of giving Patricia a normal life. Kamilah's deal was that she and Tahani basically did the exact same thing for the same reasons but in different ways. Tahani does feel the need to apologize still, but cunty as she's acted, I think Kamilah is simply a more dispassionate person. That alone isn't worth bad place points, and Kamilah's hug and sudden lenience constitute a more heartfelt apology than words. We all heard what Kamilah does to words (shudder). With Patricia, Eleanor grew more from all that than she did. And it's not about a normal life; it takes Eleanor the entire episode to realize that her mom has in fact changed and is racking up good place points by acting like a decent person from her own free will.

I actually think the big symbolic thing for Kamilah was sharing credit on the axe-through-the-table thing. Just for once, yielding and not taking All The Credit for something is a major step for her.

Propaganda Machine posted:somebody once told me that Reno is where people go when they're kicked out of Vegas confirm/deny please thanks Reno is where you go to gamble until you die. Casinos are filled with older folks mindlessly putting quarters into machines. There are slot machines in 7-11s and video poker machines in grocery stores and people actually play them. Standards are lower, everything's cheaper, entertainment's D-list. It's the home of the National Bowling Stadium, nestled in between pawn shops and quick-loan stores. There are Vegas outcasts, sure, but they're just a few more faces in an abjectly depressing crowd.

Tahani loves her sister. She doesn't need an apology to want to get her into the good place. That's self motivation and selfish. Same with Eleanor. Donna's her mom. Eleanor realizes that Donnas has faults and wants to help her life. What does an apology matter?

I know Andy Daly from Comedy Central's Review, an amazing show that was the closest mainstream thing I've seen to capturing the magic of the Onion's previous web series like Sex House and Porkin' Across America.

To piggyback off of Superrodan, if you guys haven't watched "Review" (the american version) Daly is a goddamned treat, and the show is a treasure. I'd suggest watching through at least e3. It is a surprisingly serialized show, and you'll know by after e3 if this show is for you. It is in my top 10 TV comedies ever alongside arrested development, parks & rec, and (most likely when it is all said and done) the good place. It is kind of the more fictional cousin to Nathan For You, so if you can't handle cringe, I'd steer clear.

As soon as Andy Daly showed up on screen I actually said aloud, “Oh poo poo, it’s Andy Daly!” Which I learned from the podcast is exactly what Marc Evan Jackson also did so that means it is the correct reaction. I’m just happy to see that dude in anything and he was hilarious here. Totally made the episode for me.

If you want more Andy Daly I highly recommend "Andy Daly's Podcast Pilot Project." The idea is that each episode Andy is presenting a podcast that was sent in to Earwolf but really is just him and a rotating guest cast doing funny characters.
