You can use the camera in Pokémon Go to go into someone else's Let's Go game to do all kinds of stuff. It's really hard to do because their screen will be really tiny on yours, but if you do it right you can mess with them in their game. You can catch the pokémon they're going for or go into their battles and attack their pokémon. You can help them do all kind of things too, like lending them a pokéflute or let them use surf right at the start of the game. My uncle said that there's even a Mew in the truck by the boat, and you can use a pokémon with strength to find it. I'll totally help you do it and I promise I won't steal the Mew afterwards, I already have like seven I caught myself.

(I am totally gonna steal your Mew, this is gonna be epic)

Here's the gameplay of Let's Go from this morning. They have some audio trouble at the start.

Wow this is going to be grindy as gently caress. You need 25 of a single pokemon to play minigames with that pokemon, and the minigame rewards you with 1 candy. Maybe if you're good at it you'll get more, but it looks super not fun. "What minigame should we put in to appeal to our audience? Let's combine herding mechanics and escort quests!"

If you want to evolve Meltan, you need 400 candies. :wtc:

I really dislike the direction of collecting a stupid amount of duplicate pokemon just to unlock things. I get why they did it in Pokemon Go, because it's sort of a (bad) mobile game staple and they needed some way to artificially inflate gameplay time, but I don't get why they brought it to this game.

They didn't bring it to this game. You can't evolve Meltan unless you do it in GO beforehand.

Sorry, I haven't been following this game. What exactly was the point of that minigame?

I know abilities and hold items are gone (bad), but Natures/IVs are in (bad--though you can just pay to change natures-good). Levelling up is done through either battling trainers or catching Pokémon, right? And candies are basically like the vitamins from the old games that raise IVs?

I just don't want to have to grind by catching a ton of Pokémon and turning them into candy like in the actual Go. That sounds awful.

The minigame gives candies that can be used to boost stats. Just the act of catching Pokemon gives EXP like it does in Sun/Moon. You'll still be turning them into candy however.

From the video I got the impression that you need 25 of the Pokemon in Pokemon Go. And that's really easy to do.

Not much, but there are some quests in Pokemon Go where you have to turn Pokemon into candy and as a quest reward, a Misdreavus or Gastly appears, so yeah... Meat grinder probably.

Breeding for traits isn't wierd in the sense that's a real thing humans do to animals.

Breeding is also completely optional, leveling up pokemon is usually not, so being forced to catch the same things over and over is really dumb.

Pokemon is already grindy with fighting wild pokemon, but replacing that with a lovely ball throwing "minigame" is worse.

So, every trainer defeated, including Blue/Red (took Blue) on the ghost run. Team comp and final moveset:

Hall of Fame members:

Birb (Decidueye)
-Leaf Blade
-Steel Wing
-Spirit Shackle
-Brave Bird

Sandy (Palossand)
-Hypnosis
-Shadow Ball
-Energy Ball
-Earth Power

Fan Dancer (Oricorio)
-Revelation Dance
-Steel Wing (I know)
-Hurricane
-Air Slash

Fire Bone (Marowak-A)
-Rock Slide
-Flare Blitz
-Brick Break
-Bonemerang

Mimi (Mimikyu)
-Shadow Claw
-Feint Attack
-Play Rough
-Leech Life

Gas Bag (Haunter)
-Sludge Bomb
-Shadow Ball
-Psychic
-Dark Pulse

Post E4:
Nebby (Lunala)
-Moongeist Beam
-Psychic
-Night Daze
-Moonblast

Lunala replaced Haunter, and did nice work of Mewtwo. Haunter was ok, especially in Po Town, but too much of a glass cannon elsewhere to do much if it didn't OHKO. Maro-A was the only one without a ghost move, solely because I didn't want to lose coverage options. Decidueye also was the false swiper, seeing as both that and steel wing are TM moves, I could swap it out at will depending on the situation.

The in game explanation is that Willow and Oak are studying them.

That is exactly what the logic is.
You also get candy for doing the initial research yourself, as in 3 candy per capture and a significant amount from hatching. I've once got 30 candy for hatching a Mareep, more than enough to evolve it instantly. You can also feed a wild Pokemon a Pinap Berry to get extra 3 candy if you manage to capture him with the next ball.

So overall, the most you can get from a single wild (non-egg) Pokemon is 7 candy. And the Pinap Berries are limited.

And you're required 400 to evolve Meltan. But then again, you need the same to evolve a Magikarp, so maybe the power boost is as good.

For twelve years, you have been asking: Who is Monpoké? This is Monpoké speaking. I am the pokémon who loves his life. I am the pokémon who does not sacrifice his IVs or his EVs. I am the pokémon who has deprived you of pocket monsters and thus has destroyed your world, and if you wish to know why you are perishing—you who dread Pokémon Go—I am the pokémon who will now tell you.

I asked this in the Let's Play Sandcastle, but I think I'll get more feedback here.

I want to do an LP that spans basically all of the regions in the Pokemon games starting from FR/LG in Gen 3 to S/M or US/UM in Gen 7. This will all be done via emulation. Rather than starting a new team in each game, the team of the previous gen will be bred and the eggs/hatched pokemon will be transferred into the new game (or hacked in in the later generations). To make it actually interesting I was thinking of adding some Nuzlocke rules to actually make things suspenseful and challenging as just running through all of the games with an intergenerational team seems not quite as interesting on its face (One catch per area seems like a good rule to start with). Regions in games wont be repeated besides Kanto so picking between RSE and ORAS as well as BW vs. B2W2 and SM vs. USUM will need to be decided beforehand as well.

One big thing is that this is my first time doing an LP so idk if I'm biting off more than I can chew. Also, I'm trying to gauge if there'd be any interest in another Pokemon LP and what I can do to make it interesting enough to follow besides just making another Nuzlocke run.
