I kinda like it more as a single player thing haha.

I'm not disagreeing with your point; I just don't place a very high personal time-value of money investment meter on $60 when that's less than one night out drinking.

I don't place a very high value on $60 of my money, it's more that I do place a high value on not giving a game developer $60 for making something terrible.

Or maybe buy one of the many $60 games that don't have your movement speed tied to your framerate, a game and where you can't disconnect people just by telling the server they sent a disconnect command. Maybe a game that's on Steam.

Nah, there can't be that many games with those impossibly high requirements, right?

It's $60; you either have it to spend or you don't. You'll get your money's worth out of it, though. I get the feeling that it will get to be a better game about a month into the game and I'd hold off until then if you're REALLY concerned about spending $60 on a new AAA video game.

Hey, hate to interrupt the 'good/bad' argument, but I have a technical question: I can't see to trigger the update patch mentioned earlier, the 30 gig one. My launcher still says I'm using the October 30th build. The patch notes are out, but I'm just confirming: did the patch actually come out yet or will it appear some time in the night?

The patch is out. Try relaunching the Bethesda.net client and clicking on "check got updates" under "game options" at the top left on the Fallout 76 tab.

Edit: I downloaded the patch earlier that and mine still says 0.9.0.15.

Those Patch notes don't seem like thirty gigs of patch notes on a 47 gig game.

I played with a few friends Sunday Night and had a little fun, but I'm still glad I canceled my pre order. With this new news of how vulnerable the game is I might pop into the beta tomorrow with Wireshark open just to see what shenanigans might be possible.

Okay. Maybe it auto-downloaded while I was at work, then. The 0.9.0.15 was what was throwing me. Thanks!

I've never created mods for gamebryo games, but I've spent enough time installing tons of mods and getting them to play nice together that I have a decent working understanding of their functionality. I cannot begin to imagine a way that this is rectified within the next 9 days. Or at all, really. Fuckin' lol.

There's gotta be a point where they just throw up the private mod enabled server option and just let the community fix the game like they do all the rest of them

I don't see how they're going to fix the game being broken at the base level before launch or after

This game would be pretty fantastic on player-run servers. Especially if they uncapped the paltry 20 player limit.
