So, I've had a question for a bit now. With every big YT-celebrity being loving awful, I was wondering how those guys are. I watched some of their LPs, and while I know that Youtube comments are hosed up, some random "feminism is cancer" poo poo popping up, and people defending Questionable Things becasue "lol snowflake" really didn't look good. I don't really listen to their podcast, but I do enjoy some of their LPs and I was really hoping that at least those dudes are alright. I noticed there was some similar drama in the thread recently, but I barely know who Paige even is (my best guess is Pat's wife?), and while that loving sucks, are the main dudes behind the channel not like that at least?

It's pretty clear they have a policy of not ever talking about politics on-mic. The impression I get is that they are really not very political people, but they're generally pretty lefty.

Woolie is probably the most right-leaning of the three, if that, and i feel like he has bounced back HARD due to his extremely religious upbringing. Matt has said some very left-leaning things and pat is also super lefty although this poo poo with paige, I wonder what he thinks of it. But yeah, they generally don't openly speak about this stuff. Not a whole lot of youtubers are generally willing to take a side because these days it's going to result in a lot of poo poo either way, so the safest bet is to avoid it altogether. But even places like giant bomb and such have occasionally made statements and the last two years have had them be more open about it, especially with shootings, fascism, kids in cages, etc

Achievement Hunter, for whatever you may say about them, I love them a lot myself They are VERY pointedly political and don't give a poo poo about it. On their dry erase board for a good year, maybe even now, was "gently caress Trump" and they do not hesitate to go down their individual political paths of how much they really loving hate what's up. Some more than others, but none of them are super shy about it. Not to say that they're perfect, but they tend to wear their political side on their sleeves.

Listening to the opening of the recent podcast with the Paige thing in mind allows for all kinds of fun assumptions, especially when Woolie starts joking about digestive echo chambers and needing to diversify, but too much diversity is bad! Obviously it was all tongue in cheek and was likely a jab at the state of politics/the world in general (especially given the context of talking about fecal transplants), but it's easy to see how someone making an off-hand comment could be misconstrued to be their actual political beliefs. Please note, I do not think any of the guys are alt-right or whatever. I don't think I'm going anywhere useful with this, just that it stood out to me on my drive to work in the morning and made me wonder if the comments were related. Also yeah, if you choose to hang out with someone who calls mass shootings "false flags", then I'm dropping all support for you. Boo Paige.
